Welcome to the replacement forums for the JMMB.



This place was set up after the rumors that the JMMB's host was shutting down. Because our host did not tell us when they would shut down, we kept these forums up and worked at them to make the transfer as smooth as possible. Now, the JMMB has been shut down by Dethman because of the low morale there, so we have published these forums at last. Because Dethman did not want us to use the name JMMB anymore, we have changed the name into Jazzjackrabbit Community Forums.



As you see, we don't have the old list of members or the old posts here. That's because we lost ftp access to the JMMB. This is a great loss, but I will ask dethman to keep the old JMMB open for browsing old topics.



Changes:



This board is running on a totally different system. This means there are quite some changes. As some of the admins here are fluent with the language the system is written here, we have changed a lot of things to make the transfer as easy as possible. But there are still a lot of different things about this forum software. I will try to list some:

<li>The layout has undergone some small changes.</li>

<li>Once you have registered, you will be able to log in, and not have to retype your password anymore when you post.</li>

<li>The system for seeing if there are any new posts in a thread or forum is non-existant, so we wrote it ourselves. Normally the folders, which indicate if there are new posts somewhere, go yellow again when you close your browser window. Now, it does something else. Unless you don't browse the forum for 6 minutes, the folders won't go yellow. Even if you close your browser window, they won't reset to yellow. This is easier to handle then the old system, and is more efficient.

I am sorry if you do not understand what I told you, but I am not a native English-speaker, so bear with me.</li>

<li>In this software, you are able to change the theme the board uses. Right now, it uses a light, cartoony theme from the JMMB. You can change themes at any time by clicking the "Edit preferences" link at the topright corner of a page. The currently available themes are:

<li>JMMB Light - The light, cartoony theme the JMMB has used in the past. If this is your first visit, you are using it now. This is the default theme. Once we have good enough themes of our own, this one will be shut down by Dethman's request.</li>

<li>JMMB Dark - The dark theme that the JMMB has used in the past.

Once we have good enough themes of our own, this one will also be shut down by Dethman's request.</li>

<li>JMMB Christmas - The Christmas theme from the JMMB. Once we have good enough themes of our own, this one will also be shut down by Dethman's request.</li>



<li>J2O theme - Theme made to have resemblance with j2o. Graphics by Roaster, original j2o colors made by Graphix2000(JJF).</li>

<li>Ultimecia theme - Theme made to have resemblance with Ultimecia. Graphics by Newspaz, original Ultimecia colors made by Newspaz.</li>

<li>Blue theme - Theme made by DrJones, tweaked by Fquist. Graphics by Fquist.</li></ul>



Additional themes may be added, feel free to make your own themes.(afcourse they need some quality)

<li>Post counts for users have been removed to discourage spamming(on the old JMMB users have tended to spam just to get their post counts up.)(like they could have beat me with my 4300 posts anyways )</li>

<li>There are some additional features like a memberlist, new smileys, private messages, and a load of other nice things.</li>

The rules



No rules have changed. We still request you to abide to the rules. Failure in this can lead to banning. This board has more complex banning features so please be carefull.



A warnings system is being made. That means that each time you violate the rules you will get a warning, if you have 3 you will be banned. Note that if the violation is bad enough you may be banned without having reached 3 warnings first.
