Hey, I'm sorry if I come off as impatient by saying this, but I really need help on Jazz 2! The topic I replied to in the Techinal Forum has not been replied to since. I even left a personal message for Ginny.
I am having video problems with the intro of Jazz2 The Secret Files (I have no other Jazz games loaded in, so don't know if it would happen, but I think so). It doesn't happen in windowed mode. The intro has horizontal lines on the screen, images are multiplied on the screen and the image is shaking. When the actual intro starts, the last logo is partly left on the screen, and the shaking continues. I have Windows XP, and a Geforce 4 MX 440 card. I have all updated drivers. But this problem is also happening on Gex: Enter the Gecko and the Game of Life (which I got from cereal). What is the problem or what are some things to check? If it's Direct X than do I reinstall ALL Direct X files or just the video ones? My dxdiag program says all drivers, including Direct X are fine. Is it possible that Windows XP can detect no problems but they are present? Also, it didn't correct by re-installing Jazz 2 TSF, changing the desktop resolution or refresh rate or running it in compatibility mode. PLEASE help me. Maybe I could be patient if one game was affected, but three games are, and possibly another one. Thanks so much. ![]() |

Yes. And the problem that the logo is partly shown under the intro, could be that your comp. is just too slow

Please explain more. What is catche and how do I delete it? What files in the folder do I need to delete? But this won't solve my problem for other games, huh?
No, my computer is not too slow. Pentium 4 1.6 GHz, 256 MB DDR RAM, GeForce 4 MX 440, 52x CDrom. Very, very fast machine. Neither Crono nor Ginny replied yet. Interesting. |

Sorry, I havn't been to JCF for a few days. As for your question, sorry, i can't help, I've never seen or heard of this problem, but if its just the intro then its realy not a problem, I mean, you can still play that actuall game fine, right?

Interesting, because in the techincal forum, Ginny's last replay more explained what problem she was having, and then she was like "...never mind, I fixed it thanks to Crono" or something along those lines.
Well in the actual game the sound quality isn't what it should be. Besides that I can play it, but as far as my other two affected games are concerned, I can play them at all (I can't look at a screen of flashing horizontal coloured lines!). You can go to the technical forum and read under "Jazz 2 Direct X problems". It seems like it's the problem I'm having too in TSF. |

Strange...
I also have Windows XP and a fine computer. I only have Jazz 2 TSF on (and other games but no other Jazz 2), and I can play the game perfect. Maybe you should update your Windows or something. Also you can look at the preferences of your monitor, then go the tab where you can change your resolution, and there must be an advanced button. Then go to something like problem fixing (I dunno the name we have Dutch Windows), and there must be your hardware-something (dunno the name). Put that totally to the right and then it just has to work. I have a GeForce MX 64 MB 440 and it all works fine. Maybe I have helped you or just infested you with a strange text, you choose. In the topic "JJ2: TSF in Windows XP" you can read up on my excitement on how I got it working!
Long story short though, I downloaded the newest nVidia Detonator XP driver, even though it was beta. But as I said in that other topic, I realised I quickly download fan made beta which is more likely to have bugs and viruses than nVidia beta. I'm so glad the problem is solved! |
