A sign that Jazz is growing
Prompted by Magoo's thread that Jazz is dying, I thought that maybe this would change a few thoughts of people.
![]() As this shows, J2o is constantly growing getting more and more visits each month. March there were 575 visits a day on average. And you say Jazz is dead. :P |

My only question is how many of those hits are from thinking this is a music-jazz site. Other than that, uber spiffy.

Actually on the search thing for the page, there are only like 12 things and most are for jazz jackrabbit or something related, none for jazz music :P

Just because J2o gets more visitors doesn't mean JJ2 is growing. The ppl visiting it might be the same ppl and not new ones.
Get it? :P |

True, but...
That is true, according to the stats, but are they hits as a total or hit per user? Some people may visit J2O more because it's the only reliable and GOOD Jazz2 site out now, so they visit it more often to check news, downloads, reviews and post stuff they made.

Hey, I visit it daily now, sometimes more than once! I didn't used to get online as often in the past. (Back when I had to use the phone line. Now we have cable!) Of course, I'm just one in many. Is anyone else visiting more frequently now?

A hit itself is just a request from the server for a file. So images, zipped files are all hits. With all the images on an HTML page you get a lot of hits from one visit.

So then it could be just me.

You should put on a counter hidden on the main page that counts unique hits.

Oh, BTW, spiffyjuice is pretty small, probably only a couple thousand of those raw hits (if it includes every single file and image, etc) are from spiffyjuice. SJ also only gets about 500 hits a week, so it would have very little to do with that counter.

Maybe......anyway the jj2 community will survive, not many.....*prepares to be flamed* crappy games survive this long. I mean crappy because compared to the many other games it IS crappy....thats not to say it isn't fun.

Assuming the answer to Unhit's question is going to be yes, how many unique IPs are there? That should be a good* measure of the number of different people that visit the site.
*good does not mean perfect or exact

I know why the visit counts were so high in February/March. Those were the months when I visited like crazy. And then I stopped in April. See? The visit counts obviously follow my visiting habits. So you can thank ME for such high numbers.

Hmm...even if different IPs were counted, about five visits a day would be by me. Because I don't have a flatrate or something, I often log in for short times- but still check J2O ;P!
