What exactly is your question? Not that I see one, but I presume there was meant to be a question in there somewhere. Do you not understand how to replicate laps?

I'll be complete with this one:
To make a proper warp work, you need two things: - a "warp" event - a "warp target" event The first is the actual warp, the target is where you're warped to. The warpID's determine which warp goes whereto. For instance, all "warps" with warpID = 7 lead to "warp target" with warpID =7. Easy no? For racing there's another parameter: SetLap. Set it to 1 and laps will be counted when you enter that warp. Should I translate that in Dutch? ![]() |

I would of explained warps too, but Jelze did so, here is some useless basics.
-Dont make your level to frustrating, races should be fast, not barely possible. If it will get to annoying, the player will hit ESC and quit. -Just because its a race, doesnt mean it has to have horrible eyecandy. Any lvls, even short ones, need good eyecandy. -Work on gameplay as well, if your not sure, you should have others test your lvl and point out a few bugs. -Dont add pits where your player can get stuck - Do not make it very long, remember, a race has at least 2 or 3 laps, if you make your levels as long as cooperative lvls should be, it will get ver very long and boring. -Add some puzzles, make the player look smart, remember, there can be more than one passage way. Im not a race expert, so thats practically most of the advice I can give you. Only upload it if its good!!! ![]()

I think Funky Killer is asking how to make a race that works on the internet, not one of those buggy things that JJ2 uses (with Setlap and all).
Explanation on how to replicate a Setlap warp that's not all buggy. Where the race ends, have a sucker tube, or a warp to the sucker tube. In the sucker tube, make the player crash into a trigger scenery that vanishes from a trigger zone directly below the trigger scenery. Under the trigger zone should be a warp back to the start of the level. This will make it so the next time you come, you will go Through the trigger scenery. Have as many cases of this as you want laps, though obviously wish different trigger IDs. After the last one, have a warp to the end area. |
