A doodle I HAD to do, to feed the Dig Dug fan in you.
Que Passa!!!!
Ok... This is something the Dig Dug fan in me has been screaming that I do. It has a weird story to it too: If you've ever been in a gamestore in the past year or so, you've no doubt at least heard of Mr. Driller. Well, it turns out that in Japan there is a PS2 game called Mr. Driller Great WHICH HAS DIG DUG IN IT!!! AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER!!! AND HE'S MR. DRILLERS FATHER!!! AND HE'S GOT A REALLY COOL BEARD-THINGY ON HIS CHIN!!! Anyway, I did reseach on this, and found this picture confurming it: http://mediaviewer.ign.com/ignMediaP...F098272p1.html I almost had to have my eyes surgically returned to my head, and desided to draw a picture of this(As it was something I had previously imagined coming true.) So, I came up with this cute little doodle, proving two things: 1) I suck at drawing Mr. Driller, and 2) I'm a big enough Dig Dug fan to not let #1 bother me. ![]() Bonus: For extra laughs, imagine that Dig Dug sounds like Spike from Tom and Jerry. "Heh, heh, heh... Dats ma BOY doin dat..." -Spike Tom and Jerry.

Heh... hilarious. Honestly didn't see the connection between Mr. Driller and Dig Dug at first. And that's not bad a drawing of Mr. Driller, really.
I did a bit of searching, and I can find Mr. Driller 2 for the GBA if I go import. Seems to be Mr. Driller Great (At least, Dig Dug's on the cover). Just out of curiosity, know ye where I can snag the original Mr. Driller for both the GBA and Dreamcast (I KNOW it was released on the Dreamcast)?

Nice. I've never played Dig Dug, and only played a bit of Mr. Driller, but that's some good art.

Interesting. The fact that you are a dig dug fan doesn't surprise me at all. It really fits you. I really liked dig dug back when, but when I played Dig Dug 2 I was really dissapointed. Cool info, and pic, thanks for sharing
![]() I think Bubble Bobble would probably be another one you like, right? By the way, perhaps you should hold back on the cheeks when drawing humans? It kind of looks like Dig Dug has a muzzle, or something. ...Hmm who is the Mother? *a dragon enemy in an apron steps into the picture, "Boys, dinner is done!"* ...I didn't need to see that. |

Ooo... Benny Hill-style action. If I can play "Yakkity Sax" alongside it and it makes sense, that'll be good enough for me. :-) Got any scans of those, Batty?

Que Passa!!!!
Actually, no, but mentioning it made me nostalgic, so I started redrawing the comic.(THAT is why I'm thankful for the internet, anything that I do that doesn't get put on it gets torn up in the pit that is my room...) Female Dig Dug(We'll call her that for now) still doesn't have a name, but then, Dig Dug doesn't talk in the comic, so that's not going to be a problem... In fact, come to think of it, the ONLY diologue in the strip is the sound of the pooka chewing.

Ok... You guys asked for it... ![]() I'm still redrawing the comic and trying to rember how it looked, but until I do, here's the female Dig Dug(Went easy on the cheek this time.), and... Hare's little blind date idea.

Hehe, the concept is even more wrong with the visual. :P
A kind of Futurama style of twisted humor ![]() The dragon is nice too. ![]() ![]() I wonder if the dig dug lady bakes too? Does she use lots of yeast? ![]() |

A Fygar with a blonde wig. Brilliant. :-)
Cute Mrs. Dig Dug, there. Gotta love ponytails, I say. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you base her appearance (blueish cyan skin, etc) off of the Player 2 look in Dig Dug, or am I thinking of something else? (Did player 2 even look different?)

I'm not sure about player 2 looking different. Dig Dug himself has that skin tone in the first game(Every game after that, however, has him with a caucasian skin tone... Except for Dig Dug Arrangement which is basically the first game with more varied monsters and powerups.) I think I came up with her apearance just kind of randomly. And as for the ponytail- lets just say I like drawing ponytails and be done with that. /\ ![]()
