Can anyone explain me this concept? Do you need a website to do it, because I do. The main question is: How!?

Actually, I don't think it's illegal, but spreading it is frowned upon because there is really no point and it would just create gaps in the community if there were lots of unmirrored list servers.
The only use I can think of is making a private list server for a clan or something, but there are barely any servers on the normal one, so I doubt a private one would see much usage.

I found this out a few years ago, but I never told anyone.
Edit the version in a hexeditor to something like "GpW" and you will have a "GpW" version which means only people who have it edited like that will be able to join the servers, which, of course, disables the chances of jazztooling a server because you won't have that version if you don't know what it was called, but, however, since the new listservers are out, it renders jazztool useless, and therefore, makes it impossible to hack servers unless you know what you're doing. Don't PM me about that either, because I won't tell you. Instead, I will report you and call you a fish of new orleans who does too many drugs and you will be fished out of the sludge pond and placed into a pink mac. |

I find this ideas about private servers to non-jdc releated events totally stupid, or just even clan server. Nobody's playing there 99% of the time, and nobody's going to enter. Even you'd have 10 clan members, it's not going to be used. TF tried, and it failed. Another fact is that any non-jdc events should be hosted puplic because you'r not getting any people into them overwise. JDC is only possible to keep private because it is so pupulair that even people from #jj2 joins. |

Ninja's method is good, but a little easy to get into. Honestly, the best method of action would be to create a private server using a strange version number and then instate a lock. Once I get any knowledge of Visual Basic, I will create a small program that locks the server from any enterance. It is fairly easy with packet editing.
By the way, the program is legal. However, as Link said, distributing it is frowned upon. Few people have it, fortunately; do not go around asking for it, though. ~ Traft |

I'm not sure, but I think you might have problems with JJ2 trying to use the other listservers, since the game things they will all list the same thing. Although this may not be the case any more since all of the old listservers are down now.
And if you can find enough people playing JJ2 to have a need for a seperate list server, why aren't the playing on the normal ones now? ![]()
