I'll E-Mail CliffyB, and see what he thinks about this, and if he minds if I get Plus and Level Packs.

CliffyB couldn't care any less whether you play with an extra DLL file or not. Don't waste his time.

Okay then, who can I ask?
EDIT: I can't find the Terms of Service anywhere in my installation or the installer for my version of JJ2. I did find the License.txt, but that said nothing about Level Packs, therefore, it is not illegal for me to download Level Packs. I win. I have the LK Avalon version of JJ2 TSF, just so you know. In which case it is also not illegal for you to use the JJ2+ patch. It works both ways.

Nope, it says in the license:

EDIT: Whoever down-repped me, please PM me saying exactly WHY you Down-repped me, all you put was "false". What does that mean?! EDIT 2: Whoever it is who keeps negrepping me, stop it. Last edited by Love & Thunder; Jan 8, 2012 at 05:16 AM. |

Somehow you say I win as if this is something to gloat about. Like you can stand on a hill and say "MWAHAHAHAHAHA! YOUR PLAN TO..." eh, you get the idea. But whatever, it's your loss in the end.

If you read how JJ2+ works then you would see that it doesn't reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble JJ2 in any way....Just saying. JJ2+ is a fan-made ADDITION that when run, uses a .dll to run additional features to enhance the experience. New .j2ls add levels, JJ2+ adds gameplay. If you want a metaphor think of it this way: You are using an Internet browser, and you download a toolbar. The toolbar doesn't mess around with anything already in the browser, buts adds a few useful quirks that improve functionality and ease of use for the user, and change the overall layout a bit. Are browsing toolbars illegal? Nope. In fact some are encouraged by the creator as it shows user-devotion and a wider user-base.
That's just by two-bits on this somewhat ridiculous debate. |

I'll look into Plus, then. If it's definately 100% fine and good, I'll get it.
EDIT: My version of TSF(LK Avalon) isn't compatible with plus. |
Jan 6, 2012, 04:44 AM | |
I apreciate the offer, but no thanks.
EDIT: I've thought about it, and I'm downloading it now. EDIT 2: Anyone know how to get LK Avalon TSF to work with Plus? Last edited by Love & Thunder; Jan 6, 2012 at 10:43 PM. |

Yes, I am certain plus is not harmful or illegal. And even if in the future a mod for Jazz Jackrabbit was released that did edit code, Epic would not care.Epic has shown to be one of the most pro-modding game companies out there as the Unreal Series has one of the largest game mod communities out there and recent games in the Unreal and Gears of War series' have INCLUDED software to create, integrate and run mods, even on the PS3 version, and have run official supported community mod contests offering liscence deals and $1,000,000 prizes to the best mod. If you emailed them about it they would just say "okay, we don't particularly care"

... That doesn't answer my question: How do I get Plus working on LK Avalon.
|
Jan 7, 2012, 05:12 AM | |
There's no simple way to get it to work. Even though some users have managed to get it sort-of working, the bottom line is it isn't really meant to work. The LK Avalon version of TSF has a number of differences in the way the code is ordered, or at least that's the impression I'm under, so that although it plays the same, a patch wouldn't do all that well. If there's a user out there that knows how to do it and is willing to help, that's fine, but I think you should consider downloading normal TSF and patching that instead.

A) That has no relevence; and B) It's not good to promote illegal activity. So, to sum up, I am not the idiot here. Oh, and Obi1mcd, I will get/patch normal TSF, but I would like to at least try to get the version I actually have working. |

[FRUSTRATED]If I wanted to be told that what I want is stupid/impossible and be insulted, I would've suggested that we make another JJ3 Revival. I simply want to know how to try something. I don't care what the downside is. Now, unless you have something nice to say, don't say it.[/FRUSTRATED]

It's alright, I won't down-rep you or anything. I'm thinking about down-repping Camou, though. It's just plain mean to call someone an idiot for simply asking how to do something with one of your favourite games.

Jan 7, 2012, 06:38 AM | |
Cool, thanks.
(I would Up-rep you, but it won't let me. XD) |

Sorry, you're not an idiot.
You're completely retarded. Since you fail to comprehend even the simplest of things: not all replies are related to the last post you made, but to other posts as well. I assume you're the failure who also negrepped me for saying I downloaded the music for Jazz2 (which I have an original copy of) because it didn't work? Quote:

Camou, all you're doing is making youself look bad. Flaming is against the rules, now stop flaming before you get yourself in trouble! I am now ignoring your posts until the 7th of Febuary. Enjoy being ignored.
EDIT: Oh, and you, Camou, have failed to comprehend the simplest thing: The conversation had moved on, so what you said was as irrelivent as a ham sandwich. |

Sort of. In 2000, they were bought, then the main guy died in 2001, then they rebranded, then they folded into 2K Games. Basically, they aren't GOD Games anymore, and I doubt they do that service anymore.
(Short answer: Depends on how you look at it. I think of them as long gone.) |
Apr 29, 2012, 05:52 AM | |
Well, I love Jazz, so I already purchased it, last week. I live outside the States, so I may be recieving the box in a month, maybe =/ . If anything, I'll post in here what's my 'situation' regarding the box.
Thanks a lot for your answer, guys; they always come in handy. |

And now I have a question: Has anyone ever seen or heard of any copies of Jazz 2 that actually DID come with Jazz 1? If so, in what form did it come?
