To put enemys in your level,i reccomend you look at the j2o article, about useing mce's. Make sure you make it very easy at some places and very hard at other places, that always makes sp levels better. or coop. So judejing by the level names you know the background story and what tilesets you are useing,if so,tell us a bit more.

I've decided which tilesets to use, but I haven't decided the story yet. I am using:
*Forest *Forest Evening *Woodlands *Swamps *Swamps Evening *Egypt *Egypt Night *Mega Megatropolis *Spacey Universe *Heaven *Sirius1 *Sirius3 *Desert *Where Bad Rabbits Go EDIT - @8:09PM I have now started RA. I have spent 2 hours planning the story. Here is what I've come up with: 5,000 years ago, an evil king spread terror throughout the land. But his evil plan was stopped by a rabbit with a gun. In his last attempt to keep his evil power in the world forever, he stored his evil power in 5 sacred stones. Then he hid the sacred stones in the most remote locations on the planet. If anybody could obtain all 5 sacred stones, he/she would be able to go to the Pits of Hell, and be given the power to turn into a demon. Devan Shell, a turtle desperate to get rid of Jazz, searched the world frantically for the 5 sacred stones. If he gets all 5, he will have the power to destroy the world! Jazz needs to find all of the sacred stones before Devan does! Last edited by PurpleJazz; Sep 8, 2006 at 11:10 AM. |

I have just come up with a SP level idea today. I have called it Jazz Under Fire. Sorta like Agent Jackrabbit and 00Jazz. I can't provide screenies yet since I've only just started.
The story involves Devan in a plot to take over the World. It is up to Jazz to stop his evil plan. There will be various missions to complete with some objectives to do before you can complete the mission. Each mission will consist of 4 levels. There will be a Boss every 4 levels. I have just started on the first level. Various tilesets will be used. BTW, those Owl pics make me laugh. |

They're easy to find. I just saved the link to a whole page of these. \o/

OMG DEVAN PLOT BEEN DUN B4, ORLY???
I personally think a Devan plot is much better than a pack with a basic plotline (Say, Devan kidnaps Eva)only with a replaced villain (Say Bolly) only because of the fact everyone complains about Devan plots. Does replacing Devan with *insert random villain here* REALLY make the story more tolerable? We don't even know what Devan is plotting, but I fear even if it's something ingeniously original like, say, a machine that turns Rabbits into Turtles, you'd still complain about it just because it's Devan doing it not Uterus. |

For some odd reason, the standard Devan plot seems to be favourited at J2O's poll.
I like stories like that of Evil Clones a lot more.

If Devan is overused as a villain then who could I use? Bilsy?

Someone who doesn't have a name in JCS.

The problem isn't that Devan is doing it, the problem is theres little reason for Devan to do it other than "Lol he's evil, just stoop him, mahnz". If you take the same story and then toss in say, Eggman, in place of Devan that doesn't make the story any better. Heck, Eggman has less motivation than Devan and would ultimately make the story worse. However, if you're going to take the time to make a good motivation for Eggman, you could have also took the time to make a good motivation for Devan and made the pack that would kick this extremely dumb stereotype to the curb. |

Here are 3 screenies of the Jazz Under Fire (JUF) pack I am working on:

If I may suggest something, put some reason as to why Jazz has to find and destroy those crates. That will add some atmosphere and also gives the mission some sense.
Screenies are looking good, with the exception of the ground in the third screenshot (use some different tiles, the tileset offers enough of them).

New Jungle Rabbit 2 screen.
So here is the good news, just to show you that I started working on Jungle rabbit 2 again:

Thanks for the tips, LF. I have updated the tiles and have put in a reason why those crates need to be destroyed.

Spaz18: You could also have switches instead of crates, but that is a matter of opinion.
Sacrush: Nice screenshot. Looking forward to it.

LF: Yeah I could do that. But there aren't any switch type tiles in the 7th Lava Fall tileset.
Sacrush: Looking good. I will download it as soon as it's on J2O. I'm looking forward to playing it. JR1 was AWESOME. Can't wait to play JR2. |

I like the ground in the third one.. it's always the same tile, of course, but... the other screenshots look horribly cluttered, too many contrasts and different colors. Sometimes, it's better to have some less variety for the sake of not hurting one's eyes. Actually, disregard that about the other screenshots being cluttered. The background does, but I think he did a pretty good job in distinguishing ground from background.

Yes the background looks a bit cluttered in the screenie. But the background will move during gameplay.

I actually like it. No complaints there. I guess it's a matter of taste. I can, personally, still not befriend the ground in picture #3.

I've changed the ground in pic 3 now. I may post some more screenies soon.

Again some really original screens of the you know what.
I also like the third screen the best.

WOW! Sacrush, your levels are looking AWESOME! I like the use of the Cheshire Cat in the 4th screenshot.
|
Sep 12, 2006, 11:34 AM | |
It's looking good, yes, but.. a little monotonous. The eyecandy is the same in all of the released screenshots so far (except the fourth). Jungles are random.
The cat picture looks interesting.

The screens are from one level only, so dont worry there will be plenty of variety in the episode overall. It wont be like Jungle rabbit 1 with too many jungle levels this time, I got some great ideas to prevent too many jungle levels, it will play a small part in the episode.(It atleast needs some jungle level(s), heck, the episode is called jungle rabbit.) ![]() It's kinda funny that the only interesting picture you like isn't event in it.
