2.0 would just confuse it with 2.03.

If there surely was a handy and possible level-editor in JJ3, It would be easy for me to give my vote for it. But as now as neither of the projects are going ahead, and there's no knowledge what kind of features they would have, it's hard to cast a vote on anything. But I'm still giving my vote for jj3 for now, but of course I wouldn't mind if 1.25 was made. It would be sweet if it had exactly same features as the April Fool's hoax.

As for there being lots of new versions if the source code was released - hopefully this would not happen. The way it would be hopefully done is that the source code is only released to the capable hands of the 1.25 official coding team. Or something like that.

No, that wouldn't be fair. It should be opensource and available to everyone. The "offical" version of JJ2 1.25 should still be created and used as default, but there should be nothing preventing you from turning Jazz into a Trafton.

I don't think too many different groups would be making seperate versions in anycase.

You know, I just had a thought that someone could program another Jazz2 completely from start. The coding would be different and not compatible with old levels and tilesets, but hey, it would be open source...

...And who would want to do such a thing from scratch without pay? It would take them years!
