Oh yeah, and I just finished this game. It was alright (graphics were good considering this was 1994, although they werent the best). I hated the fact that every few seconds you get hurt in this game, and simba has VERY little health. Basically, I found myself dying pretty often, especially in the later levels where i had to resort to using health cheats.

Gameplay was really annoying in some places. For instance in the second level, on the ostrich ride sometimes when you try double jumping over stuff, you get killed spontaneously for no reason, and this happens OFTEN when jumping over high obstacles. I guess Simba breathed in some bad air particles or something.

Anyways, a lot of unfair injuries, a lot of dying, some obstacles which make you just want to cheat and skip levels, and an overload of enemies near the end (and when you die, the enemies respawn, so you have to go through legions of them again, and would probably end up running through everything and health cheating like I had to in those levels). The graphics were good, though, and the game followed the movie nicely. Some great ideas in this game, but a lot of stuff will seriously annoy you as you get further into the game, at least it did for me.

Anyways, I just felt like expressing my opinion on this game ;P.

Of course, this was the PC version of the game. I dont have the SNES version and don't intend to get it so I can't say if its different or not.

Eh... You know you can duck the higher ones, right? I never had problems with mine (well, 386 = very low framerate)...

Er...you can't duck the ones that REQUIRE you to double jump over them. If you do you crash and Simba dies D;

I'm gonna play JJ1, at least *that* didn't rip anything!

Actually, JJ1 Tubelectric has tiles ripped from Sonic2. Also in general, the run & jump gameplay from Jazz1 is very related to the Sonic games. But no game developer can rip as much as Game Titan did for Jazz Jackrabbit GBA..

Well, it has to have something from those games to make it Jazz Jackrabbit...

Remember those images you'd get from selecting episodes? Some are rippoffs, like episode 4 (or 3, somehow in later versions they were switched) with Grape Ape (Purple gorrila, only the hand is shown) and Jill of the Jungle, or episode 5, based on the Terminator movies.

I fail to see how something drawn in 1993/1994 could be ripping something off that was made in 1995.

Another rip-off, i think...

The HUD is similar to JJ1 HUD, that Cosmo (the green dude) looks a bit like Jazz, that tileset reminds me of Battleship, and...

1.) Originally released March 1992.
2.)
Another hit game from the creator of Duke Nukem. (ZOMG.)

I posted a picture, just what... that Duke appeared saying what I should not steal bandwith and well... it doesn't work. Yay.

HUD = Head User Display or something = the interface in front of the actual gameplay = the score and ammo stats etc.

Not particularly. Lots of games in that era had HUD bars at the bottom, and it's not like that was the only one JJ1 had.

I don't see any real similarity between orange pipes around a metallic blue surface and ice walls. Unless you mean the yellow stuff in the bottom left of the screenshot, which is a general feature of Cosmo and not unique to that particular ice level.

since this has been revived i'd like to point out that saying jazz jackrabbit stole stuff from cosmo is stretching it way too much.

Jazz hasn't got bubblegum as a weapon like Ryu from street fighter 2.

And also Jazz got two eyes, like Pacman.

We should tell Epic to sue whoever made JJ2.
