WHAT

Well, I guess I could go home earlier a lot more easily if I can't manage to find a free week (or get bored of you all ), so that's fair enough. But we can take the day I suggested as starting point for that week (Aug. 11 = saturday, 12 = sunday).

I guess Saturday is better, seeing how it is then possible to visit shops and stuff, instead of walking around in a closed Bruxelles.

Then again, the first day will probably mainly consist of people arriving and, if we're indeed planning to have a multiday meeting, going to hotels etc. So I doubt much shopping would occur that day.

From 11 till 14, maybe? A week is certainly overkill, and one day is just uh for reasons nakke said.

You should plan a day for people to arrive, and a day for people to leave.
Besides that.. a few days to just do things. Could be 3. (which makes the total meeting 5 days.) Some sort of "holiday meeting" is pretty nice though.
I went on holidays with fellow CCers. You shouldn't stay together too long. You'll get annoyed from eachother. Maybe spending 5 days together is nice. (Fill those days too ofcourse. ;P) Then 2 more days for arrivals and for people to leave. (The first and the last day that is ) .. That would make the entire meeting 1 week. And 5 days in which we can do things together.

Yeah.. there's a slight chance I might come ;o

I don't think a week would be overkill at all. The american meetings have been about a week long.

A week with the first and last days mostly spent for greetings, getting into a hotel and goodbyes would be ThE BeSt!! And the guys living next door (Benelux, I tell you!) could go home earlier if they got bored..... or just otherwise weren't able to be there the whole week.

I honestly don't think I want to go a whole week. But a few days is fine. As nakke said, I can go home earlier.

I could be in for a week I think .

• Everyone seems to agree with Brussels as location. Enigma lives there, though, so other Belgian cities are an option too (Several major, interesting cities are there, such as Antwerp / Bruges / Ghent)
• The current date/timespan proposed is Sunday, August 1st 2007 until August 8th.
• We need to decide where we are going to stay. An hotel would be an obvious choice, but perhaps camping (tents) would be cool too. It's a more relaxed athmosphere, you don't have the problem of seperate, small rooms, it's outside, and because of global warming there's no rain. And we can play our music as loud as we want
• We need to know who comes. The list is included at the bottom of this post.

Apart from that we need to have some sort of loosely defined schedule, but we can do that later. The things mentioned above need to be known relatively early, because we have to get bookings done et cetera. I think January 1st, 2007 is a good deadline for knowing the Date, Place and accomodation, and whether you're coming or not.

I think camping would certainly be cool.. but only if there's one bigger tent to hang out in (if it rains outside). Also we pretty sure wouldn't have interweb access if we went camping in tents. Other than that, it'd be fun, if people have enough tents to bring with them, or there's a place to rent them fer cheap near.
It's outside where all the supercool stuff supposedly happens, so where we sleep wouldn't matter that much.

No internet access is a good thing, imho... It only distracts from the social stuff. Without internet it'd be like web 2.0, but offline!
