The readme is a bit disorganized but it gives a concise description of what the program does, and gives a brief description of how it works. The bit I quoted should probably be in the original post of this thread though. The part of the readme that explains how it works is kind of fragmented (note 1, note 2, note 3, etc) but its pretty simple. It just loads a special .dll file that contains all the fixes. You have two options: either create a special jazz2.exe so the dll loads automatically, or load it manually. Edit: And sorry if my response was a bit rude, since it basically amounted to "rtfm". I still stand by that reasoning however, as it is somewhat annoying to ask what a program does when the documentation is readily available. Saying "I read the manual but don't understand this or that" is perfectly acceptable of course. The important thing is to at least give it a shot, since otherwise the best you can usually expect is no response at all to your questions... other than something very vague like my original comment, or "read the manual", of course. Explaining things that have already been explained in the documentation isn't fun, especially when it seems like the person asking the question doesn't even care enough to bother checking it first. It kind of wears on you if you deal with this sort of thing a lot. Last edited by EvilMike; Apr 6, 2008 at 08:53 PM. |

My impression of Mono's posts was more that if someone comes across the thread, they're not going to know what is being presented to them without after downloading it, which seems the wrong time to tell you what you'll be downloading. Information has gradually appeared in the thread itself, but only now anything detailed, and you must admit that the first post was absolutely devoid of reasons given to download the file.
That said, this looks like an amazing program and it does seem true that this is what 1.25 is supposed to be for. All the colorful commands and announcements get really annoying after a while, but I'll live. |

Sounds great. Just one question: if the plusifier works, i don't need plus.exe, do i?

Well, I guess it's not really stable, but I just hosted a game, closed the server after a while, wanted to save the chatlog, but when I was saving the whole thing crashed. Is it normal, cuz I don't really want to use a program that wont let me save my (precious precious) chatlogs.

I think there isn't much of a celebration since people have been messing with JJ2 patches for years now, so that diminishes the excitement. And although bug fixes are awesome, people probably aren't going to make sweeping changes like adding in the capability for mods and stuff. As such, people tend to download and use this stuff, but not get excited since it'd be like being joyous when Warcraft III updates to 1.18c or something.

I'm sure a lot of other people who make levels think the same way. A good single player project takes at least a few months to make from start to finish unless you're some kind of machine, and you don't want to put in that kind of time investment when only a couple hundred people will even be able to play it. Because of this I don't think it's really worth blur's time to put in a bunch of single player specific features in JJ2+ which will only be used a tiny amount, even though I have to admit I'd like to see just what could be done. Better to focus on multiplayer, where virtually everyone can benefit from it immediately. In my opinion, if there's ever going to be a jj2 hack or patch that expands the single player game, it's going to have to actually come from someone working on a single player project. |

I updated the topic to make it slightly more helpful. If anyone wants to post any screenshots showing JJ2+ in action, please do so. The best ones will be added to the opening post.

If it's of any joy, that problem has been discussed a few times... It's just about prioritizing. I sort of feel like seeing if there's anything I can do about that particular problem right now, but on the other hand, I feel lazy

As a reply to Blur's message:
![]() ![]() @master sven: If you're on your own server, you need to type '/spectating on' to enable spectating. Once you did, then type '/spectate on' to spectate. If you're on another server, then the host needs to enable spectating. Once they did, typing '/spectate on' will allow you to spectate.

Jimbob, those screenshots are good, though if you want to hide IP's, it would look better if you either blur them or don't show them at all. Also, the hearts look misleading--have you considered restoring your Anims file?
Using /capturewait off should allow Assassination levels to work.

I remember hearing that those problems are actually somewhat harder to fix than it seems, since the menu is handled separately from the game itself, so it would require a bunch more research to be done. Some people know way more about this than I do though; everything I am saying is second hand. In the mean time, this program http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/dow...p?levelID=3316 fixes the ingame level list well enough. It's a launcher for jj2 levels. Lets you select difficulty level and character. It's basically a complete replacement for home cooked levels. It also has support for episode files (no images though). In fact even if JJ2+ eventually fixes the menus, captain cook will probably still be easier to use. Quote:
Speaking of ini options, why is multiversion off by default? It lets people from 1.23 and 1.24 join your server, with no sprite glitches (unless lori joins a 1.23 server, but who seriously uses lori). There is virtually no drawback to turning it on other than a potential flood of polish people. I really think this option should be on by default.

It doesn't have to be allowed in events and such, also it is a choice for the host to use it. But I personally love to look at duels/2v2s like that very much
![]() And it might be off because theres 500 TSF players usually. Your server would be full of Polish noobs you can't understand in no time. ![]() Oh, they will all ask for/say things like "TEST??????????" "PLEASE?????" "ME JOIN KLANU DM????" "DM JESTES KLAN??" "JAK TAMM????" "CZESC" Also I do really think this patch should be added to the J2O downloads link, and maybe make this topic Sticky. It is a really great patch, and thus I think every newb should be able to find it easily ![]() |

Do I have to run plusifier each time there is an update?
Actually I just looked at the timestamp and it's obvious that it wasn't changed. This should probably be pointed out in the readme. I have a small request, can you make it so the changelog explicitly points out when there is a change to either of the .ini files? Otherwise it's hard to tell if anything is different, which means you have to painstakingly check each update or just overwrite your ini.

The plusifier only patches your exe so that it loads a certain dll. You only need to run it again in case the dll-name would change (not likely).
I would guess that blur codes jj2 so that missing posts in ini-files will be added automatically (meaning you never need to overwrite). |

I used JSD for those a long, long time ago, and have since deleted my original Anims.j2a D:
