For Project 64? Are you sure you want to make it N64 compatible? You do realise that the amount of work you would put in it when trying to make it N64 compatible will probably be much bigger than without N64/Project 64 support. I'm not saying you may not do this, it's just some advice...

If you really, really want to remake JJ1 with HD graphics, I'd suggest fiddling with programs such as Game Maker or Clickteam Fusion first. Both of those have been the technical foundation for various succesful 2D indie games on Steam.

For EarthBound 64, I know little about it. If there was a prototype ROM there is no more reason to publish it now than there was back then. Starting a fangame project from scratch may be less work than finding out how to hack a broken prototype.

MOTHER 3 GBA has some unused stuff.Maybe Itoi is able to show me broken prototype?Could MOTHER 3:The Fall of Pig King engine was hybrid of legend of zelda ocarina of time and super mario 64?

No way in hell is a director going to leak a prototype, especially not to some random guy on the internet.

Enough about making theories crafted from nowhere, enough trying make "plans" from absolutely nothing. If you can't decide what engine to use and expect others to do a load of unpaid work for you, especially for a franchise the JJ2 community barely has interest/knowledge in, you are not fit for the ambition, and in the wrong place. For example, if I wanted to post about making a Sonic fangame, it would not be this forum, because it's NOT where the fanbase resides!

There is absolutely no point in making a game work only for a super outdated console. No one cares about "authenticity" when it's an unreleased game.

And yes, being overly ambitious about your ideas applies to the Jazz one as well. If you can't do anything competently and expect others to do all the work for you..it's not your project. A simple HD remake doesn't need a director.
