It's a refreshment to see brian's dedication and a return of mr. classic site, Jazz 2 City.
Jazz 2 City was after all, a jazz 2 city, where everyone lived, although hopefully not for too many hours. It defined those of us (most people here) who were around then doing jazz 2 related things. go Brian!

Glad to see there is still a legacy that people remember. I thought I was the only one. ;P

Hmm, 3/5 BW's in that post... plus PaG who I narrowly beat out for the last spot in BW... gotta love this history.

and WB LilWabbit, LTNS! It's good to see old established bodies around these days.

Sorry for not replying sooner, as I've been away for a few weeks. If Brian is willing to give me access to his server, I'd be happy to upload all of the old levels, as I still have a complete collection of every download there ever was on Jazz 2 City. Although it would probably be easier just to make my Jazz 2 folder and it's 7000 files available online. I've hardly added anything to it since Jazz 2 City went down, so it's sort of a piece of history in and of itself.

At any rate, from my perspective, Jazz 2 City went down because it consumed too much of my life. I admit that I probably never would have stopped if DethMan hadn't asked me to, but it was definitely the right decision, and I only regretted it for a year or so. Seriously, I don't see any logical reason to continue to fret about the death of J2C. Strangely, this is the first time I remember seeing the issue of Christian morals brought up in one of these discussions, but it's very true what DethMan said. I can certainly testify that I started growing in my faith a whole lot more after J2C went down because J2C really did come before God in my life. That may sound ridiculous, but what we spend the most of our freetime doing is usually the top priority of our lives. And besides, it gets a little frustrating when I spent such a large portion of my freetime on J2C and still couldn't get levels posted within a month of receiving them.

To me, updating J2C again would be like Disney making a sequel to Snow White. It would just ruin an old classic. Enjoy the archives of J2C and J2S when they come, but there is no dishonor in moving on. We always commend people in this community who have stuck around the longest, but I don't think we should any less commend those who have chosen to move on from Jazz 2 if they know that is the right thing to do in their lives. Sometimes those who try the hardest to preserve the community end up being the ones to push people out.

I remember AstroniA and AJ2F.
I thought he wanted to be anonym when he uploaded a level.
Now I know it's his name!
I REALLY would love to get my uploaded level back, enhance it and put it into a level pack! *sigh*

I remember I staretd to understand how big and good the J2C was precisely 5 months before it went down. Eep. Whatever, I'm talking to the door and I'll shut up.

The small list of people which you gave Shadow, weren't the only people around at those times. Yep, there must have been more than just those, around at the VERY old days. :P
