Hm... I've probably mentioned that I'm not a big fan of levels and tilesets, and this is my second reply in this thread. It would also be the second level I am making that has nothing to do with the creation of server tools.
Neobeo's Artillery: ![]() This single-player level involves going round and round an artillery, but exploring it thoroughly. It is driven by none other than Jazz himself (he is inside so you cannot see him), and like all good soldiers, the level will be nothing but confusing puzzles. Like the firetruck which was inspired by Chip's Challenge, this artillery was inspired by Advance Wars. NB: MS Paint FTW.

Don't make the level too large, BTW. Your firetruck allready gave errors, and I think this tank is going to be even bigger...

That's not artillery, that's a tank!! What the heck did they teach you in the army?

Suprisingly, Firetruck works on my 1.23, but doesn't on my TSF. I get an error:
"Jazz 2 ran out of internal animation structures. There are most probably too much enemies in the current level. Please solve this problem and restart JJ2." Too much enemies, right...

Everytime I see a Jungle screenshot, I want to post one of my own.

That one looks great. Especially because of the gameplay.
PJ, I always think your screenshots look pretty, but they barely ever seem to show any of the gameplay elements. Not that they aren't there - I don't know. But from your screenshots your levels are empty.

Although I agree with FQ on this; I must add that few levelmakers manage to skillfully excersize all aspects of gameplay, eyecandy etc into their work. So instead of looking at it as a flaw, I'd look at it as an aspect to improve and add to your style.

Surely you don't need to tell people to jump into a hollow tree trunk when they're about to get sandwiched between two boulders?
![]() Maybe you could make that text string appear in Easy difficulty only... ![]() |

Besides, I think it's not the rocks that one has to jump to escape from, but the Devil underneath the trunk. I think being inside it wouldn't save you from them anyway because Jazz would still be hit by them....

I am sure Violet knows what he has doing and has actually tested if it works.

For the record, there is no gameplay reason either the devil or the bats are there. They're just cool because they get triggered by your approach. The rocks are enough to brutally crush you on their own, and the tree trunk does indeed protect you from them. :P

Did Jazz got swallowed by a dragon?
What has he been up to?!?!

Good job on the hint I provided Xobim, but no, the dragon has no significance in the actual plot. The very basic part of the plot is a deus ex machina between the brothers Jazz and Spaz.
I understand your point Flash, but the text string is actually important. It's one of those things that makes sense when you experience the level itself. |
