Looks pretty nice, Fjol, although the ground looks pretty bland (good you used some variation though ). Use some flower-in-the-ground blocks?
Also there's a really ugly tilebug to the left. You might want to correct it because it looks bad. You using Jeroen's Smiley?

Ooookay... Map or scrap? If map, this will end up in Double Pack no. 2, 3 or 4. I'm guessing the later numbers because this level is pretty big and the symmetry and stuff will take a while. On this pic you can see a bit of the top left engine.

I'd say map, but I hope it's not a dead end there.. oh well, the eye candy looks a bit interesting.
about 'Uber Marsh CTF' I like the background but the eye candy could definitely be better. About 'It's Darn Cold' 's layout: I don't really like it, it's big and platformy. And what FS said about Phoenix' level is true. The base placement is almost the same, but I don't know if this level is symmetrical. |

This is a very early version of the map. There is very little done. Yes, ATM it's a dead end, but later I'll probably change it in a O-like track so you can immediately grab the PU and get back to flagging.
...Guess what is the tileset. (know it? don't say what it is but say you know it ;p)

Yes, I do know it. I updated the EC in Rooms now by taking out some of that 'walltunnelcolourstuff' and adding some stuff in the walls.

You know, the place where the ground/wall tile doesn't connect with the grass one. A solution may be placing a wall tile on BG layer 5 or something.
Grass-in-the-ground tiles are those in the basic block of tiles with a grassflower thing. They look nice and add variety. At least for me. Jeroen's Smiley = jt_smily.xm. You know, this music file I suggested.

mome8.xm. That's a nice one.
So, wait, could you post the list of all the levels here or you don't want to spoil it? Also, try looking how it looks in Carrotus Evening. I think it will look , but I'm not sure.

Eigus, it's nice you're making all these levels or whatever, but I think you should let experienced jcsers take a look at them one at a time and judge the overall gameplay. Screenshots can't show much in that area.

I think FS is right. About Uber Marsh CTF, the base is in the same spot as in Phoenix' level.. and it's also a dead end. So I would move the base to some other place or don't make it a dead end.

PM who wants to test The Fiery Passage of Magmis (title changed) when it's done. still probably no-one. Yah, Magmis will be finished first now. (separate releases or double packs from me, at least now)

Pretty nice, indeed...
Screenshot of my level: As you can see, I like putting up some of the pickups before the level's layout is done. Ammo That I decided to use in my level: Seekers, Bouncers, RF's and toasters. The powerup for the red team is the toasters, and the powerup for the blue team is (haven't decided yet, but it's probably gonna be either RF's or Seekers. : As you can also see, I changed the textured background to a slightly more blue-ish shade of Grey (that fits my level more imo). Yeah, of course I'm kidding. Just wanted to show the <3. The other parts of the level have different eye candy. The white stuff has been replaced too, I just wanted to show what I made in like.. 30 minutes? Finding the right tiles in that tileset is not easy.

@Cooba: I did, with It's Darn Cold, (which got deleted by accident), but this time I just decided to try making a CTF level, as I have done so before (for Christmas).
...I still think this level's gonna be better that It's Darn Cold, anyway. Last edited by Jimbob; Sep 22, 2007 at 08:35 AM. |

There's quite some progress going into this level, methinks.
This is an area near the blue base (also at the bottom of the level.) P.S. I'm not overusing the ammo. There isn't like hordes of it around the level (which is what I used to do, |

Darnitdarnitdarnit. I said I'll make levels. And? I made (-). But this one actually WILL see the light of day. So much progress in one day and it's still doing very good. I still think it pretty much sucks. ;P Your opinion? Map or scrap?
