It's an awesome level, many like it and it's definitely a lot better than Anarchy Inn.

Also, Grytolle's list is relatively awesome.

I like the idea of a seperate "classics" pack too. I've compiled a first draft, aiming to incorporate 2 or 3 levels for each year. It was surprisingly easy to find really old levels that I found suitable, but 2003 gave me a hard time; please point out which levels I overlooked. The list only goes to 2006 since the 2007/2008 levels worthy of inclusion would probably end up in the "normal" bash pack anyway.

PJ will post the "classic" CTF proposal somewhere soon. Based on the feedback given (thank you, particularly cooba with his well-argumented post) we will then update the "normal" lists.

Code:
Unemotional Landscape (1998, Mezz)
Bobo Meets Royalty (1998, Hidden)
Green Beret (1998, Bluez)
Clan Wars: SE III (1999, Shadow)
SandStrand O'Hazes (1999, spy)
EvilMike's Hidden Temple (2000, EvilMike)
3DBattle1 (2000, Noraa)
Carrotus Squash (2000, Martin aka partydude/ET)
Rainy Rain Forest (2001, Splash)
Doomsday Darkdream (2001, CelL)
60,000 Feet Under (2002, BlurredD)
Rockingham II (2002, Merlyn)
The Space Fortress (2003, Snooze)
Hectic Housewars (2003, Disguise)
Abandoned Robotics Factory (2004, FireSworD)
Jagged Ectoplasm (2004, Lark)
E. Prime (2004, BlurredD)
What Is This?! (2005, Newspaz)
Relics of Minoria's Temple (2005, Past of Leveldesign)
The Chasm (2006, BlackRaptor)
The Dismal Palace (2006, Cooba)
Anarchy (2006, BlurredD)
The Warden Woods (2007, Cooba)
Caves of the Arabic Ninja (2007, Ragnarok & DarkSonic)
Sector Probe 68-A (2007, Wraith)
Release years of the oldest levels are mostly based on the "Created On" metadata of the level files. There might be some mistakes there.

Shoot.

Did I imagine the last 2 years, or 2007 and 2008 levels are missing?

Yes, this sounds like a good idea.

And I think 'Dethroned' should be in the Classic Battle-list. Another original level is The Underground by FireSworD.

i'm sorry for all the crap i had been posting in this thread the other night, it's too bad i quit but i'm just too lazy and i feel like no one would appreciate my effort anyways so it's not worth it.

i have no idea what's going on but anyhow i think that the 10th anniversary bash should be bigger than the usual ab pack and have some classic levels in it and not only new stuff.. although "classics" are to each one his own, i personally hate levels like Bobo Meets Royalty which gives me a headache, but 24 Hour Coffee is one of my favorites.

make the worst level you can.
it'd still be better than Bobo Meets Royalty.
that's why some people like it i guess, i can't relate to it since i haven't even been around when it was "popular".

It's the level that counts, not the author. Anyone who thinks otherwise should be ashamed of himself.

The few levels I make every year aren't made to get into the Bash. In fact, if one of my levels would ever make it to a Bash, I'd eat my shirt. Seriously, isn't this all about celebrating, not about "Let's see who makes an appearance this year"?

It's also fun to notice that I made a decent-ish level with a huge gameplay bug last year and it made it into the 9th Bash, while now that I made a tons better level... it did not.
Not that I mind that at all.

Fun indeed! Glad you don't mind at all because without telling what level you actually mean that comment is pretty worthless.

I'm actually quite surprised my level actually made it in.

I however say keep it since its a post-ironic diorama on the mindset of the bourgeois level critiquer's diaphragm.

Or we can force QoB on everyone. *runs*

actually I'm going to thank you for this, you actually spelled Dystopia correctly. When I made that level I spelled it wrong but by the time I realised my mistake it was too popular to rename.

Dirty Laundry has my full support, as does Bobo Meets Royalty, with full admission that it is a horrible level.

The Bash is here within a week, and we're yet waiting for the final level packs. That might be useless though if we cannot even find a good host for it.

Genesis Reactor Core => Mechanical Disaster (blur's fine level that never got well known somehow)
Malch => battle2ctf (just as silly as Malch and better to play)
Darkened Factory => anything else really :(

The rest seems fine.

And what about the classic lists?
