PurpleJazz vs Ragnarok
Garden Brawl: 5-2 (My choice) Abandoned Robotics Factory 1-5 (Rag's choice) Starlight Falls II: 5-1 (Neutral) This was extremely fun and hectic. In the first game I played a bit recklessly, although I had better control over the map and so I won here. Abandoned Robotics Factory was really hard though; he had total control of the map for most of the game. This lasted a very long time, at least an hour. In Starlight Falls II I decided to play aggressively and that really worked for me here, it was a little difficult near the end but a very fun duel. GG. |

Dueled against Riccardo also. This game took really long, but we managed to finish it at once still. We both played defensive, etc.
5-4 to Ric in Fort Oblivion (his choice) (35 minutes ;D) 5-3 to me in The Dismal Palace (my choice) 5-2 to me in Evilmike's Evil Fortress (tiebreaker)

Confirmed. The second lagged so much for both of us we might as well have been shooting at each other wearing blindfolds

DarkSonic vs. Warrior
The first round was in Dismal Palace (my choice) I played pretty well (although I had a bad start and none of my tricks worked) and won 5-1 here (could have been 5-2 or 5-3) The second round was in Battle1 and I thought: not again ;( Anyway, this was a pretty boring duel. The first point (1-0) took about 10 minutes, and the second (1-1) took about 20 more minutes) The next points didn't take too long, and it became 4-3 in like 10 minutes. Then he had to go and said he didn't really feel like playing anymore. So I got the last point and won 5-3 (I could have lost this as well) Anyway, good game(s) and thanks to Ktos for hosting. |

Valmango vs. Vivando
5-2 to me in Battle1 (my choice). I played defensively and predicted him many times. Once I got trapped near the bouncer power-up due to a mistake. Could had killed him at the hollow of green springs, but he dodged me and escaped. 5-4 to me in Garden Brawl (SJ's choice). I thought I'd lose this since SJ quickly took a 3-1 lead. However I noticed that he didn't seem to re-cover in full, so I managed to kill him two times in a row. Following two kills were done randomly, at least mine was so, as then I wasn't aimed on attacks at all. I don't remember how the last kill was done, perhaps, I killed him near the pinball or so. All in all, good games despite of some minor lags. Emp hosted both. |

5-3 Ofort 4-5 Sruins 5-2 EMEF against DS.
All 3 were very intense duels. I was constantly adjusting my playing to be less and less predictable, and he was doing the same. We both got very lucky at times, and it could have been anyone's game. As usual Sruins and Ofort were really slow paced, and we even played with 3h in Ofort. He was leading 3-0, but I just got intensely determined not to lose, and pulled a 5-3. In Sruins I had 4-3, but he'd get my health down everytime I used the warp (some lag), but overall I had a few lucky breaks, so it's all fair. The last round I just had to keep him down or I would've lost. Overall, these were the most intense duels I've ever had. They were fun, but the Sruins round got so boring I suggested a time limit. gg Last edited by FireSworD; Jul 28, 2013 at 11:16 PM. |

Eh, don't play with time limits, since they'll encourage passive play (which is a great tactic in a level with 3 carrots like half of the levels in the mappool). Rather decide on decreasing health (to 3 or 4), no carrots or DA. You might even 'drop' one of the carrots with a little adjustment in JCS, lol.

The next rounds :D (yay) !
Just a friendly reminder: well, no one picked the same level 3 times yet, but some people picked the following levels two times:
CelL: Abandoned Robotics Factory DarkSonic: EvilMike's Evil Fortress FireSworD (2): Battle1 and Sandstone Ruins Hitch: Hectic Housewars Quickz (2): Dismal Palace, The Highlands Ragnarok: Abandoned Robotics Factory Ric: Fort Oblivion valmango (2): Battle1, Starlight Falls II Now the results of the last round: FireSworD d. DarkSonic: 5-3 OFort, 4-5 SRuins, 5-2 EMEF Hitch d. PurpleJazz: 5-3 Housewars, 1-5 SFalls2, 5-2 ARF Vivando d. Ric: 4-5 OFort, 5-3 Dismal, 5-2 EMEF valmango d. Snooze: 5-4 GBrawl (Snz forfeited SFalls2) Ragnarok d. R3ptile: Walkover Quickz d. Anubis: 5-4 SFalls2, 5-4 GBrawl CelL d. Enigma: 5-4 ARF, 5-4 GBrawl And here's the schedule. Note that you cannot pick the level which is behind your name, since that was your last choice. Good luck with these duels. Deadline will probably be.. Sunday, February 9. To be played | Schedule Upper Bracket FireSworD (SRuins2) vs. Hitch (Housewars) valmango d. Vivando: 5-2 Battle1 (val's choice), 5-4 GBrawl (Viv's pick) Lower Bracket Warrior (Housewars) vs. Sperry (EMEF) (The winner of this will have a walkover in the next round) Ragnarok (ARF) vs. Ric (OFort) Quickz (GBrawl) vs. PurpleJazz (SFalls2) CelL (GBrawl) vs. DarkSonic (OFort)

Now my comments about the duels with FS (yes, they were very intense)
1st round: Fort Oblivion I picked this because I couldn't pick it in the previous rounds, and I have done some duels here already. He didn't know the level very well, but after like 20 minutes it was still only 1-0. So we decided to play with 3h. That worked out very well because I was leading 3-0. I didn't get hit a few times, which was weird. But then he came back. I made some mistakes and I wasn't fast enough at some moments. So the game turned in his advantage. It became 3-3, then 3-4 and 3-5 in about 2 minutes. I couldn't get the PUs anymore. Anyway, this was my first loss in this level. 2nd round: Sandstone Ruins I was surprised that he picked this and I was pretty sure I was going to lose. I scored 1-0 but a few seconds after that he roasted me and so it became 1-1. Then it became very close and intense. I missed the carrot around the Bouncy PU and so it became 2-1. Then I killed him with RFs around the carrot: 2-2. I took the lead after like 10 more minutes, and everything was fine. But that didn't take long as he scored 3-3 and 4-3 after some time. After a longggg period of no roasts I was at 1h and I was almost sure I was going to lose. But I saw him at one of the carrots so I got the other two (I was there just when it spawned a few times) Then I think I killed him because he took the warp and I used Bouncers (not sure of that) but I was surprised and so it was 4-4 and everything was possible again. Then I got another kill (I think it was also a warpkill) and so I won 5-4. This duel was very epic. (TEH EPICK BATELL) 3rd round: EvilMike's Evil Fortress After Qz flipped a coin (I didn't agree on Housewars and he didn't agree on EMEF) we got to play EMEF. This was a pretty fast duel, as I couldn't really do much but getting carrots and using a lot of Toaster. It was 3-1 and I killed him (3-2) and a few seconds after that he killed me because I had 1h (and he spawned at the same spot) I couldn't really do anything as he had more control over the level. So he won 5-2. I still said gg even though I lost |

PurpleJazz vs Quickz
Battle 1: 5-3 (My Choice) The Highlands: 5-0 (Qz Choice) Not sure what to say really. Was quite fun, and this makes up for that BBswing game. =P PurpleJazz vs DarkSonic Starlight Falls II: 0-5 (My Choice) Fort Oblivion: 0-5 (DS Choice) Fail. Last edited by PurpleJazz; Feb 9, 2009 at 02:30 PM. |

Well, then the Highlands round. I started well. Hitting him twice, but then he got stuck with 2h. He got /k and somehow my shots didn't hit him a few times in a row, which lead to him scoring the first point. I got kinda frustrated, got aired a lot and well, couldn't really focus anymore. 8th Dimension kinda dominates this tourney with all UB semi-finalists and now PJ, DS and Rag progressing. Sperry, War en Ric, start pwning ![]()

CelL vs. DS
5-0 Sandstone Ruins (my choice) He didn't really try to play in this level as he didn't enjoy it, so it was not too hard. 5-4 Dismal Palace (CelL's choice) This time he really tried and I almost lost at 4-4. Don't feel like commenting a lot on this one. PJ vs. DS (TEH EPICK BATELL part 2) 5-0 starlight falls 2 I dunno what happened but I got insanely lucky and hit him at the right time. So this wasn't as epic as I expected. 3-0 (forfeit) OFort Again I dunno what happened but it was easier than I expected. Our training duels here were usually 5-3 or so. So this was not what I expected. Oh well, SJ is the next one! |

Yeah, top players of for example CC don't join duel-tourneys because they simply don't enjoy duels. Anyway, who cares about clans, it's a dueltourney so clan-stuff isn't that important anyway ^^

DarkSonic vs. Vivando
First round (my choice) starlight falls II 5-3, I was leading 4-1 but then he came back till 4-3. Fortunately I scored the last point. Second round (his choice) Abandoned Robotics Factory This time everything went well. I was leading 4-2 and I was very close to winning this, but then he came back. In the end he won 5-4. To be honest I think I deserved to win this, but that didn't happen. Third and deciding round: EvilMike's Evil Fortress Well, I was leading 1-0 after a few minutes, then it became 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4 and 3-5. I couldn't do anything except camping at the end, and then got an airhit. Like I said, I think I deserved to win this. Not that he was that bad, but I had so many chances to score the deciding point (according to the spectators) and didn't finish him off. So now I'm out.. |
Feb 14, 2009, 04:31 PM | |
I think you were more deserved indeed, since I don't seem to care about this tournament much and I already forgot I should duel you next until you pointed it out. We decided to play this on just a coincidental occasion and I wasn't mentally prepared or anything, so there we went.
![]() I however wanted to defend my honor as a battle duelist too though, so I couldn't just give up. I also admit we both lucked and airhit each other a lot, and maybe you a bit more. ;0

Yes, as I was a spectator, espescially in ARF there were at least 5 big chances for you finish SJ, but somehow you managed to do the wrong stuff all the time then. Lol.
Either way, in Starlight falls and ARF DS was probably generally better, however in the deciding level you both did a lot wrong yet DS did the weirdest stuff there (and was unlucky at times too) Good job though, SJ, you didn't give up at a point where not too many people would continue to fight :P |
