Post flags and emblems here
The title really says it all. Post flags and emblems of countries, provinces, counties, etc. etc.
Papua New Guinea ![]() ![]() The emblem design is what I like in particular but the flag is interesting as well. |

The best kind of flags are those involving some form of rotational symmetry:
Hong Kong Isle of Man South Korea Asahi Minoo Republic of Anguilla NATO Eurasian Economic Union BDSM rights Transgender bisexual BDSM pride Can't go too wrong with dragons either: Bhutan Wales White Dragon of England Somerset ![]() One Czech village has this figured out and did both of the above but doesn't yet have a solid grip on file formats: Líšný ![]() ![]()

The UK flag:
![]() Although that's not particularly interesting, so here's our coat of arms too: ![]() If you're a big Queen fan(I mean the band), you'll probably notice its similarity to the band's emblem, as seen on the cover of their Night At The Opera and Day At The Races albums, except Queen made some small adjustments. Most noticeably, they added a phoenix above it. IIRC, this is to make the animals on the emblem mirror the animals each of their birth years represent according to the Chinese calender. The coat of arms is also found on British money, both on the £1, and in the form of a picture formed when you arrange one of every other type of coin in a certain way. It's also seen on the packaging of all products sold in the UK, aside from imported goods. I'm pretty sure this behavior is discouraged on these forums. |

There's some overlap, but I would hesitate to call it 'stealing' - heraldry's express purpose is to show the bearer's origin and lineage, so I'd say they're more of an artifact of Serbia's history than some kind of attempt to 'steal' something from the Byzantine empire.

Okay, now for some neighbouring countries:
Liberland, the country where everyone is free to live, without taxes or other annoying country stuff. Nobody actually sees it as a real country, but it's on land which belongs to no one, so I think they're okay. Montenegro ![]() Romania. It's interesting how we never had political issues with them through history. oh and may i correct the stuff i said in my previous post: That's not the Serbian emblem, that's the emblem of Serbia as a country. The emblem of the Serbs as an ethnic group is just the bird's shield alone, since Serbs don't live only in Serbia, and Serbia isn't the only Serb country. Buut as you can see people here keep forgeting that. Last edited by Jelly Jam; Jan 29, 2017 at 05:09 PM. |
