We do, Canti. We can lose Faw.

Don't do what AE suggested. Before we try anything like that, we should pick up the shard in the corner, which seems to allow us to safely shuffle around the gems.

Maybe it's only in one room. I didn't really check.

We don't want to hurt Faw again. At the very least he should cast Defender on himself.

Ok, obviously killing Faw doesn't solve the puzzle. Our aim is to solve the puzzle.

You're in the way of our goal.

I didn't mean that solves it, it just gives us the capacity to try whatever we want and be able to come back like new.

Okay, but we can infer from past posts that throwing the crystal into the room from a distance will get Faw impaled and not help us at all.

First, when we simply put it down Faw got impaled.
Second, when we pulled one of the gems out of the room with L33tz4n's whip (with Shuri OUTSIDE of the room), Shuri got impaled (and killed, at that).

So it's logical that Faw will just get hurt.

And, looking back to when we picked up the shard in the corner, eight spikes came down and blocked the doorway, but Shuriken didn't get impaled (L33tz4n did, but that's only because she was in the doorway). She still didn't get impaled after picking up the pyramid and putting down the crystal, but with that done and the shard back in the corner, the spikes didn't go up.

The spikes ONLY went back up when the room was back in its original state.

What's that tell you? Certainly not that we should use the same failed tactic over and over.

Now, I would recommend doing something more or less safe until we figure out exactly how to use the gems. I mean, obviously trial and error is not the way to go. Who knows? Maybe the gem rooms are just there to distract us (and impale us).

Let's climb up on the fountain and maybe drink some of its water.

Oh, yeah, and give L33tz4n a bag of chips.

Maybe I just misinterpreted your statement, but in the past thread, every time you have moved a gem the doorway spikes have come down and someone has gotten impaled. That's all the pattern is, no fancy 'this crystal does this, that crystal does that' stuff.

It's only when we pick them up or take them out of the room (or put the crystal down). Just sliding them around does nothing, I think.

So the only rooms that can be found interesting if the gems are just a painful distraction are the room with the fountain, the craving room and the campsite?

Yeah.

And I pretty much know that throwing the crystal in from a distance/swapping it out for a gem will get Faw painfully impaled, so let's not try that.

Quickly run E, N, N, but before doing that give L33tz4n a bag of chips and a generic foodbar.

If you impale Faw again I'll be very sad. D=

EDIT: If it means anything, 2 people (Ae, Wallace) want to stand on the square, then put down the crystal and pick up the pyramid, 2 people (n00b, Xobim) want to throw the crystal in from outside of the room, and 2 people (me, my mother) want to avoid those (since I'm certain they'll get Faw impaled) and instead give some chips to L33tz4n and scurry W, N, N, E.

I agree with Minmay/Birdie. Just for the sake of keeping Faw impalement-free.

I'd expect nothing to happen, considering it was there when we found it. 's not something to try, though.

And, I guess the final decision is: E, examine the cracks near the skeletion, give a bag of chips to L33tz4n, N, N, W.

Or, if you don't want to skip a room, just go N, N after giving her the chips.
