Oh well. No, I really haven't considered sports. I like sports, it's fun but people have always been putting me down just because I'm a little bit worse than they are. I guess I should try, anyway. What they say shouldn't matter to me, but it still does.

Hey there people! I'm PixelMage, 17 years old, British and somewhat of an artist. I love to do all sorts of arty stuff, but am studying to become a Geologist, and am aiming to do a Geology course at Uni (I'm currently in college).
I first played Jazz Jackrabbit 2 when I was about 9, when my best friend at the time had a copy of the Beta version. She gave it to me, and I still have it. This year, something sparked my interest in the game again. I heard JJ2 had online capabilities, except my copy didn't. I was confused. I came here, and that's how I found out it was the OEM. Anyway, I decided to join the forums. Hey people! |

West Sussex eh. I'm in Hampshire, which is immediately west of West Sussex. I guess I'm not so off the map in the community after all. I'm at College too (first year.)

Well, I have no idea what Uni I want to go to (I'm only in the first year of college.) I go to 'The best college in the country.'

Why the hell wouldn't it be? No offence, but you're 16 years old, with a whole life in front of you. A lot of teenagers feel depressed or left out or whatever, this is natural, and if it isn't in your case there is time enough to go see a psychiatrist. Wallowing in self-pity for sure won't help much.
Cooba, good observation, but I don't see it as much of a problem. Last edited by Stijn; Dec 14, 2007 at 10:43 AM. |

I don't see anyone posting their life stories on the first page, though.
(this post appeared like 2 seconds after stijn's so plz don't blame me :D)

Also, while you might perceive it as illogical, things can suddenly get better. If you write that off it just closes you to more opportunities. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's a good way to open yourself up a bit.

Introduction :)
Well a new member, so a post in the introduction thread should be the most appropiate thing to do right now...
so here we go ![]() I'm 23 years old, live in the good old city of Nijmegen (In the Netherlands) and a biochemistry student. Already got my Bachlor in my pocket, and now off doing my master with a graduation project starting soon. In Reall life i'm quite the shy guy with little social life, and to no suprise that generally makes you the nerdy presence in the class nobody really talks too, but is helpfull when you need qeustions answered (because they do know where to find you when they need help). However, despite my shy and closed up outer layer, I can get very talkative when feeling comfortable. Especially so when it goes on about a subject I like or know a lot about. (As it so happens, biochemistry is a big passion of mine..don't get me started or you'll never hear the end of it) But I also love giant monsters, cartoons and enjoy silly RPG's like the Toon rpg ![]() (we play D&D (serious rpg) every sunday as well) I'm quite a-technical, so don't expect me to know much about computers. I know how to work with them, and play my games, the rest is of no interest to me ![]() However, despite not knowing any programming or much technical details of computers.. I do have a small hobby of spriting. But lately have not been doing anything actively with it, I have loads of emoticons and even whole sets made as they are basicly easy to do and you are always able to finisch them. (I don't like unfinisched business) I own a PC (obviously) with windows xp (please don't let me go into the details, I don't know), have a Wii (and some of the older Nintendo systems) and Ps2. Also got Ds, but mainly can be found playing on the wii or chatting/gaming on the PC when not busy studying or other activity. Reason for coming here? Well I enjoyed the original Jazz jackrabbit games which I have legally copies off on cd, and at some point I just suddenly came across a beta version of Jazz3d. It was actually first mentioned by a friend, but never believed they actually planned a third installment. This mysterious beta version was obviously unfinisched, but made me curious about it's history and thus found more info on the web through google, and more specificly wiki. More interestingly, besides the background info I wanted to know, I came across this website. But never bothered joining, till something else popped up.. a friend made fanart of Jazz, remembering this site I went back here showing him this and..... I noticed some plans for a MORPG game of Jazz! Something that really peaked my interest, despite being late for the beta and probably needing to wait for a second chance on playing/testing later on I want to stay up to date about this. I may not have played Jazz obsessively in the recent past, I did enjoy it a lot and hopefully somethign pops up in the future again that is not a dismal failure as the game on the gameboy advance. (though I thought it was pretty bad personally) So yes, that brought me to this site ![]() I may not be so active on the forum, I think, but at least when I have time i'll be searching back those cd's of Jazz 2 and play it again. It should be nice to get the feeling back I had when playing the game for the first time, and use some of the mods if they will work for me. And errrr... If there is anythign you want to know, well ask? (The avatar is an old sprite I once made of Usagi Yojimbo, a comic by Stan Sakai (NOT MANGA!!! American comic) which i'm quite a fan off. the sprite has been resized and adapted to fit the small window which decreased the qaulity to my dismay.. P.S: I make all my sprites completely in MS paint, it's a testimony that everyone can sprite if they take the time and effort to learn!) |

Welcome to the forums, fellow Dutchman
![]() I think there's a second Karrot Shire beta test planned around Christmas, though the thread in General Jazz Talk will probably have more detailed info about that. Is there any place we can view your spriting work? I found a deviantArt account matching your MSN address, is it yours? In that case, I really like the lab cat sprite. Maybe you'd find chatting in #jj2 interesting, as far as I know there are some people interested in both biochemics and roleplaying there too ![]() |

![]() I made a lot more then what is showcased there, but it was mainly because of the incidence they had at some point of "sonic sprite edits" in which everything remotely looking sonic-ish or otherwise even remotely lookoing like something of based on an official sprite got deleted or accounts suspended. As I did quite a bit of sonic related sprites, mostly tail sprites, they had to go. I never went into just a recoulour and did some advanced editting of the sprites like making a link tails and Galdor tails in original poses. Sadly, it was still loosely based on tails sprites and that made them illegal. I still have them soemwhere....if interest is there to see them, I could upload them somewhere. Also, for others who don't want to go into trouble searching the web for my gallery: http://helios-inferno.deviantart.com/ It's a shame I also lost a lot of stuff I made, sprite related, due to a hard disk crash... Didn't have a recovery of everything, and sadly a lot of what got lost where sprites for monsters and severe character edits/battle sprites for RPGmaker my brohter once had plans for making a game with. But then again.. he never finisched the game, despite that I did a lot of work on the sprites. |

Hello, I wanted to reintroduce myself because it has been years since i posted on this forum.. I (always curious) did a little search for my name, and found a lot of posts by Stijn.. (once in the UJP clan I started with Spaznukem back in the 90's :P - nice piece of history here, looks like leaving is hard for you too
![]() I have played a lot of games since I left jazz, but I have never been as addicted as I was with JJ2 back then.. Good old days :P Nowadays I'm a student (don't have much time for gaming, but when I do I'm still only playing retro stuff, I have a huge old school console collection, I believe 3D hasn't made games any better). Anyway, a lot of things have changed.. but it's nice to look back sometimes, that's all..

Hello!
I go by "Reikobi" online anywhere, but my real name is Dylan. I'm 19, living in the east coast of the USA, and just this week I reacquired Jazz 2 to relive some of my fondest (and OLDEST) gaming memories. Back then I was probably 11 or 12, and not that well known or involved in the community (though I did make a few levels -- none of which are uploaded here) and played online pretty frequently. I went by a plethora of different names and was in some clan like JJ or something. Now, after some serious tweaking and working at it, I was finally able to get the full game working and fix the 30-sec CTO issue (the JJ2UDP program finally worked for me after I tried static NAT, port forwarding, and other stuff). I've just booted up good-old Queen of BoarD. I remember the trial of patience this thing took back then, even with several people to aid my struggle. It was the talk of the town, etc. The memories I have rapping the fire button in this game are some of the greatest, and it's good to be back. Now if only I can find some servers with a solitary English-speaker or two... :P

Greetings. I am Take One, also known as Dj Dragon, or just Dragon (although Take One is fine here). I'm from Britain, although my official race is 'mixed white and asian' - I'm a quarter indian.
I registered here a few weeks ago, but I kind of forgot to introduce myself. Or write any posts... I've been playing Jazz 2 since it was released. I used to love playing it on coop with my brother - I was always Spaz, of course. I recall owning Jazz 1 Holiday Hare before Jazz 2 was released, but, according to my brother, we had the full game too. I'll have to look into that. Aside from that, I've owned the shareware version of the Secret Files (I seem to remember my brother, Mark, discovering it on a PC Format CD) and I think that's it. As for non-Jazz related information, I used to be an IT and game design fanatic, but then I randomly got into music after playing around with some old pre-made loops software (an old version of Dance Ejay, similar to Garage Band) and a demo version of FL Studio. I am now labeled as an 'almost proffesional' DJ and a music producer, have released (as such) one mix album, come close to releasing an album of my own music (I now have over a hundred to choose from), finished a rather large music project entitled 'On Neptune's Path' (I have yet to upload it), remade the enitre Doom 2 soundtrack for some reason and have done a small bit of work for a couple of game software companies. Aside from that, I am obsessed with correct grammar and spelling (and general literacy), I enjoy video games, as do so many people who lived in the 90s, I am christian, I've never sworn in my life and I (apparently) have an IQ of 136 - I still need to take a proper test, though. Phew. Glad I finally got that off my chest. |

Hey there. Have you by any chance uploaded your Doom 2 remixes to VGmix at some point? I saw a whole bunch of those upped all by the same artist but I think they were taken down or just can't seem to find them now.
