The earliest traces of the DM clan date back to the first year of jazz2, when there were many small worthless clans. One of these, RS, or better known as the raptors was the clan of Bobby aka DizZy, DM leader (along with me and iCeD). Eventually, RS ran into some trouble (I am not even going to explain, fquist or bobby will have to :P) and was about to die. One day, a member of RS contacted me in a server. He contacted me because I was the leader of BH, a clan I created. He informed me that RS wanted to merge, and I eventually met up with Bobby (who I didn’t know too well at the time, because he was still a semi-newbie like I was) and merged to form DL, the Dark legion.

Elsewhere in jazz2, other clans were transforming. I do not know much about these ones, so feel free to fill me in.

Once upon a time, Onag created a clan called MERC, or mercenaries. I believe the clan was made for elite players or something, and it sure did have some. Sadly, it became weak like most clans do, and had to merge. They merged with a clan called EG (Elite guys), that was also formed by a merge of GG and ER, or Good guys and Elite rabbits. The new clan was EM, the Elite mercenaries.

Time past, and EM died. They basicly had NO active members, so they decided to merge with DL which was still a clan that was doing well. The merge was successful because DL wanted iCeD to be on their side.

There we go. Now we have DM, the Dark mercenaries, a clan with the following members (first 3 are leaders).

Me
Bobby
iCeD
FireSword
Salamander
WhiteFang
VelKasha
Fquist
Everlasting
Spotty
Syntax
MadRabb
Deadlock

MATH:
GG+ER+MERC+BH+RS=DM
RS+BH=DL
GG+ER=EG
MERC=EG=EM
EM+DL=DM

I just thought I would let you all know. I have gotten questions before :P

I doubt that, not many clans these days HAVE much history. OR at least, not this much.

SPLASHcc on January 09, 2002 05:00

Wow…ok. Now to see if any other clans are going to do the same :)

Paul on March 03, 2002 05:00

How dare you not mention the SprintMan!

Paul on March 03, 2002 05:00

I haven’t been that inactive, have I? :P

KJAZZ on May 25, 2002 04:00

And I still remember the EM clan..bleargh…and why am I bothering to reply? I don’t know, and I probably don’t care. ;-p

Taz on June 22, 2002 04:00

Wargh! Hyperactive!

BlackRabite on July 03, 2002 04:00

gasp
Bob was a newbie?
:*P

KJAZZ on August 01, 2002 04:00

OMG REALLY I DID NOT KNOW THAT

American on August 04, 2002 04:00

Bobby was never a newbie. When he started playing, he had already been playing for 5 years. It’s automatic.

Stilettø on August 11, 2002 04:00

wasnt maddrab in DM?

everyone has been a newbie once so has bob

hmmm interesting history

RockyR on August 13, 2002 04:00

The funny thing is I’m still not sure if we do anything clan-related or not . .

At one point i was the “leader” of eR and then EM, but it’s a good thing this status wasn’t transferred to DM as I wouldn’t have done a very good job. ;)

FQuist on August 14, 2002 04:00

Added some people to the members list.

Syntax on August 14, 2002 04:00

Add me to the list, you foo. :P
I believe the clan was made for elite players or something…
MERC was not just about being a decent player. One of MERC’s top goals was to help out the community and become involved. Yeah, yeah, go ahead and laugh. MERC did stuff, though: JCSRef/TryMe Comp, Treasure Hunt ’99, and JDC (after various tournament attempts) are a couple examples of this. Even in their post-MERC days, J2S, JDC, and J2O were/are still created and run by old memebers. In this respect, I think the clan has left their mark. I’m sure I have forgotten some things; Fquist, Ice M A N, iCeD, care to add anything?

Yes, Madrabb is in DM; add her to the list, foo. :P

Overlord on August 21, 2002 04:00

And what was that about CM (Combat Mercenaries) you forgot to mention?

BlackRabite on September 02, 2002 04:00

Hmm..
All the members are rather good players(all of them that I’ve heard of), but I must ask if they have a positive attitude?

stripe on November 28, 2002 05:00

You should compile a list of everyone who’s been in one of the clan’s forefathers. I could name off a few GG and MERC but you’d be better off contacting someone who was a member. :)

Syntax on December 20, 2002 05:00

The Mercenaries (in order of membership?):
Onag
graphix JJF
Roaster
Syntax
Admael
iCeD
Fquist
Wakeman
FoX
Everlasting
(others?)

Wow, back in the day…memories

Canadian778 on January 04, 2003 05:00

Interesting history. Hm.

EDIT:

Complete memberlist (for as far as I know) :
EvilMike
Bobby aka DizZy
iCeD
FireSword
sAlAmAnDeR
WhiteFang
Ice M A N
VelKasha
Fquist
Flea
Everlasting
Spotty
Syntax
MadRabb

Note: Deadlock left DM to join GpW recently.

Onag on January 22, 2003 05:00

FoD was also in MERC at one time or another. And thank you Syntax for clearing up the original goals of MERC. =)

I can’t account for anything past the Elite Mercenaries merge, but every member before this was selected by me personally. They were hands down some of the most influential people in the JJ community to date.

Their skills were up there, and their attitudes were even better.

I think MERC could have done so much more…if only…if only their blasted leader wouldn’t have been such a flake. ;p

Ice M A N on February 22, 2003 05:00

if only their ORIGINAL blasted leader… ;p

EM > MERC > DM
