Added: 120 tiles, mostly boat stuff. Also a second example level. (Though you should play it first.. play gfbex.j2l before gflex.j2l)
Fixed: The sand, the ramp blocks, the fire, the trees (they were transparent in places).
This is a fairly good tileset. It had good example levels, showing how to use the tiles very nicely. Now to the review:
This tileset is pretty useful. Although it’s name seems to imply you use it in G-Force levels, it could also be useful in a beachish/shipish level.
The eyecandy was pretty good in here. It could have been better. There wasn’t anything too special.
This tileset was fairly attractive. It had nice colors, and the art was fairly well done.
The placing of the tiles in the tileset wasn’t that great. When I first looked at it in JCS, I didn’t really see anything too greate being made with it. But after I saw the example level, it made it look much better.
The mask was very nicely done. There was no place that I saw you could get stuck. It had some neat hidden messages (as some do). And there was overall no problems.
17 + 15 + 15 + 10 + 20 = 77 / 10 = 7.7
This was a fairly nice tileset. It could have been better, with more stuff, a few more textures etc.
Download recommendation, Yes!
Yeah, really nice stuff. :-D
The tileset’s textures (I like the sand) are really well made and everything looks really…er…cute.
There are loads of eyecandy like some flags, cool signs, nice backgrounds (trees and stuff) and loads of green fishies.
The ship part is also very cool and the example lvl showed you what you could do with those few tiles. Very nice!
G-Force Island 2 is much better and original than version 1. You can do a lot of stuff with this tileset like build a boat, make a island or a cross between both of them. Something the original G-Force Island couldn’t do.
However, the background from Epic’s Beach tileset is still there, which I will be taking points off for.
Well, there’s not much to say anymore. G-Force island version 2 may still got its ripped background but it is a very well made tileset and those new tiles rock. (-D I’ll give this tileset an 8 and a download recommendation.
Alot better than the old one, i like your example boat level.
Reccommend Download, whoever doesn’t, their loss.
It’s much better than the 1st version, but it still needs some work. The sand and fire still need work, but most of the other tiles look fine now. I would say it’s worth a download.
Good Tileset Violet!
I gotta make a lvl now…..
This is a great improvement from the old one. Better sand, better cave, better well, everything.
The fire is still fuzzy, but I think that makes a cool effect.
Lots of new tiles like the crow’s nest and the ship tiles. I like the boat example, but only after the second time I played it, I saw the connection:)!
This may be a good tileset, but, it’s nothing really special. I’d say an 8.5
To lazy, no review today
^original review, in 2002 (orig. rating 8)
Now for the new and IMPROVED (I feel like one of those IKEA people in commercials when I say this):
The tileset seems interesting. Doesn’t really have much of a theme to it (seems like random tiles are just put into it) except maybe some beach type place. Some tiles are drawn good (I like the sand) but the majority have a rather grainy feel to it (Take the fire animation as an example). Certain tiles also feel rather useless (And what’s up what all the flags? =P). The set also seems to have the necessities (vines, destruct blocks, signs, tiles, etc).
Overall, the set is nice, but a lot of tiles don’t go along too well together and quite a bit of them could be redrawn and made better. Its usable and could make some nice levels, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Rating is a 7.5
It’s Great i just needed this tileset with this tileset you can all make Beautiful Levels like i am making right now like Jazz’s Vacation and etc….
oh and one more thing. You can also make Things Change colors all the time Just like in the game Sonic 3 and Knuckles when you get All Super Emeralds you just change you’re color Non-Stop you can things like that in this tileset………
That’s all[This review has been edited by Master Cheater]
