This is my first lvl after a LONG while. One of my kinda bad pieces of work at the time but its good. A 2 vs 2 match would be great but 1 vs 1 would be, wow to my point of view.
…Why hasn’t anybody reviewed this yet?
Anyways to start off with the review for Flag Rat.
Eyecandy: The levels eyecandy isn’t too detailed or original. Just chains and tubes in the background. so don’t expect much of a visual experience.
Design and layout: The design and layout is very platformy and small yet smooth.
Gameplay: It 0wns, it’s one of the levels best features, although it’s much like alot of other levels it’s very fun.
Pu’s and weapon placement: This part is questionable because their are alot of crates of ammo (Not that theirs anything wrong with that) where just loose ammo should be. A few places felt sparse with ammo and it’s mostly just #4 scattered around. The PU’s which are RF and Seeker go well with the level and maybe a bouncer pu would add more to the gameplay imo.
Their is one little problem i found. The left area is only 1 tile thick (flag bug).
Good level, good job 7.7 is my rating.
Dw ?: Yes, enjoy![This review has been edited by Fire Sword!]
Hey, are you shade from the JLA and the comics?
Its a little to small, but i like the eyecanyd and gameplay. hint make your levels a little more bigger =)
“Flag Rat” is a 75*60 tiles small CTF map that indeed could fit well for a decent duel or 2 vs 2.
The design of the level is good and open, it has many platforms and easy navigation. The weapon placement is okay (we have a lot of ammo and two powerups here, which will at least garantuee some action :-), except maybe for the annoying ice. There are two carrots to regain some hearts.
The route from the red to the blue base is quite simple and, because of the level size, not very long. Scoring is easy in “Flag Rat”.
The layer work is pretty good, too, but maybe the author paid a bit too much attention to the background instead of the foreground (nearly no use of layers 1, 2, 3).
Unfortunately the next level setting is wrong. Otherwise, this is a nice little CTF map for servers with not-so-many players, and action is garuenteed. So why not download?
Plus, being in a good mood today, i give out fat 7 points.
