Awesome. Once again Shadow of former ML has been able to create two absolutely stunning battle levels. For creating these, Shadow choose the “Town House” tileset by epic, wich is really a cool tileset, and one of the only epic sets i really was’nt able to find any major masking or tile errors in. Even though this tileset is pretty hard to use, i must admit Shadow did a great job with it. The levels have great eyecandy, and perfect layer use.

The levels are maybe a bit large, but thats not that much of a problem. They are full of secret areas and shortcuts, wich are all very well hidden. The level design is fresh and new, with buildings rising up anywhere you look, giving a good city-like atmosphere to the levels, as probably was intendid.

The music used is “Streetwise” by Alexander Brandon, the default music file for this tileset. It indeed fits the levels well, but i guess that that choice was origenaly done by epic, and just followed up by Shadow:P. Movement is very good, with almost no dead ends i could discover, wich makes gameplay very fluent, and the levels easy to get around in. In both levels a 50 coin bonus was added, giving you a full energy, and one or two powerups.

Coins where well devided, with mostly silver coins spread around the map, and one or two hidden gold coins. Powerup placement is good too, well devided across the level. Carrots where well placed, but to me, not enough, i was only able top find one carrot in each levels, apart from the full energy located in the bonus room. This i dont like, especialy because each level held about 3 powerups wich where just out in the open, wich is totaly unbalenced with the amount of carrots.

Weapen placement is good too. Well divided in each level, in blocks of 2 or more, making it easy to colect ammo, so you wont be walking around with nothing but your blaster to defend yourself.

To sum it up, i must say these are probably two of the best levels using the “Town House” tileset ever created. I award “Street Wars” with a high (or low?) 8.5 points, and a good sound download recomendation.[This review has been edited by >CelL<]

Yay! I beta-tested this one for Shadow and as one of the level names promises, this pack really rocks!
The Town tileset is one my top favourite tilesets and its incredibly hard to work with. Now, both levels feature very good eyecandy and a great design (plus very smart weapon placement).
You will find all kind of weapons (even those you don’t like that much :-) and, as in most ML releases, some yummie/evil food. Despite or just because of that, the two levels allow a very fluent gameplay which makes it fun to battle in them.
Conclusion: "Street Wars" from Mystic Legends is the best Town Battle ever (by far!) and therefore a MUST DOWNLOAD! Very very high eight points!

Very nice level pack by Shadow.

The eye candy in the town tilesets were used great, and the layout fits the tileset well, a good variety of stuff to get.

Conclusion: Get this now. :-)

Here’s two so awesome levels by Shadow.
There’s good weapon placement, and the levels are big, what ís not bad thing. But I think that foods are not important in battle levels. These levels should everybody download NOW.

BTW, mrplonker this is not advertising place.

hey, here’s MY review,

The levels are GREAT, good work with such a difficult tileset, i’ve only got one downpoint,
Why the heck would you place a bonus in a battle!? it’s the purpose of a attle to fight with weapons as hard as possile without doing any troule for it
else if someone has the eapon noone else could get it ecouse you will protect it. And the battle will be much hunting on coins!

i think this level is worth at least a 9

YAWN I’m too tired of writing a more detailed review so let’s just make everything short and easy: Great lvls, plenty of eye candy, easy to navigate, good use of tileset and good weapons placement. It’s just that the lvls are quite BIG but I’ve got no further compaints.

Download this NOW.

[Admin warning] Rule 2 abuse, rating 1.5

This certainly isnt what I expected from a tileset with an average rating of 8.7 at all. I’m very suprised that it got that rating in the first place.

I can see that you’re all friends of shad.

Don’t rate your friends tilesets in a biased way, read the J2o rules!

These levels are below average. Download them and see for yourself.

No download reccomedation!![This review has been edited by ShadowGPW]

I think I saw these levels a lot already on the net, but I think the ratings it has got so far(exept the one Cracco wanted to give) are a bit high. That’s just my point of view.

First level: actually, this one has a boring layout, and a bland weapon placement. Apart of that, it’s a good level.

Second level: it’s a good thing this one’s around too, since I would have given a much lower rating for only the first level. Not that it would have seriously dammaged the average rating…Anyways. This level has an interressting layout, and an average weapon placement. The eyecandy is good. The level is actually just average, but I’m giving a higher rating because of the fact I like it a lot.

I reccomend a download to everybody, since it’s good for a server, even though these levels are just average.

A 6.7 from me.

To Cracco: you know Cracco, I think this is one of those cases I also had, where it’s just a matter of taste. Some people like this kind of levels, others don’t. Appearantly, you don’t, and me and the others do. They’re not friends or anything.

Hey! I just found something that i’ve downloaded but havn’t rated.

EYECANDY 21/25

Great basic street eyecandy. Beautiful backround eyecandy and a textured sky. Layer 2 included

ITEMS 20/25

Well, we have a variety of items (Including food, which is very rare in battle levels). There is much ammo and hidden PowerUps.

GAMEPLAY 18/25

Not the best i’ve seen, but a repectable score. There are a few warps and springs. Bonus points for steam coming off the top of buildings.

SIZE 19/25

Both sizes are respectable. Could be a tiny bit bigger (I like big levels)

TOTAL = 78/100

RATING = 7.7

FINAL COMMENT: Very good. But an extra point would have given you a higher rating. At least your level gets a (high) download recommendation.
