This is a small easter level
made for a test
with my school
friends
YAIH! I am the first person to review this :-)
So let’s begin with the review.
GAMEPLAY/DESIGN:
Gameplay was really simple, mostly you have to kill enemies. The idea with that spiky trees after the savepoint was good. Carrot field was not a bad idea. The rest was really standard. But niek has done one of the things you NEVER should do in SP (or some other game mode): NEVER MAKE PARTS WHERE THE PLAYER FALL ON SOMETHING THAT HURTS AND MUST WAIT UNTIL HE IS KILLED! Don’t do this. That was made on a thing with carrots you must jump on. I fell in 2 times, at the second a cheated jjfly and flew out ;-p
Another comment: You can’t play with Lori :-[
PROS: Okay gameplay for your first try.
CONS: The spike trap where you can’t get out
Rating: 5.0
TILESET/TILESET USE:
The tileset used was the easter one. The eyecandy was more like standard eyecandy. Not amazing but not bad. I still notized some tile bugs. use more layers! There wasn’t any textured background, only a sky texture.
PROS: Okay tileset use.
CONS: No textured background, tile bugs, not amazing
Rating: 5.0
WEAPON/ITEM/ENEMY PLACEMENT:
There wasn’t much ammo, only a bit bouncers and too seeker crates. Also the items were set really sparse. For example: You don’t need the gems because there isn’t a nxt level. (if you don’t know it, if you find 100 gems in the nxt level you get an extra life). Also there wasn’t 100 of them. You don’t need the coins because there wasn’t any bonus room (or was there any?). There isn’t enough food to get a sugar rush. Also the enemy placement was weird. For example: Don’t put enemys on blocks that hurts Jazz (spikes,…) That looks weird because they don’t have any effect to the enemies. Also DON’T let people fall on enemies they can’t see below. Use the event ‘Stop Enemy’ to stop enemies (Gameplay/modifier/Stop enemy). If they walk over this event they will go back.
PROS: the three tuf mans at the end were a little bit fun.
CONS: Weird enemy placement, sparse ammo, gems and food.
Rating: 2.0
REPLAY/FUN FACTOR/ORIGINALITY:
Hmm…..I don’t feel like playing this again :-(. Sorry but it isn’t much fun. The carrot field and the spiky trees was a bit original but not much. Think of new things. For example ‘The Demon Invasasion’ from Moonblaze is a very original episode o_0
PROS: spiky trees, tuf mans
CONS: not really much fun factor
Rating: 4.0
OVERALL:
Not really amazing. Just make original things, longer levels and better eyecandy. But I see a bit talent. Make more levels.
PROS: okay eyecandy
CONS: bad item/weapon/enemy placement, no fun…etc
FINAL RATING: 4.0
because you are new at level making and I am nice I’ll change the rating in
5.0 :-)
DOWNLOAD RECCOMENDATION: No

MAIN POINTS:
The first thing I noticed that the level name was “Wortel1”. Are their more levels coming or only 1? The gameplay is quite good. The name has been used will with “Small easter level” couse the level is quite small.

The eyecandy is basic. Too basic. Some tiles are bad worked of, but some of the details like carrots or eggs, are quite good worked out. In line 24 are some hurt spikes. The autor did’nt make them very well, their flying actually. Their also some flying eggs with 4 coins in it, also a small detail. In eyecandy overall is it too basic, so and 5. Also misses background. But because your Dutch, +0.2. ;) Just kidding.

Gameplay is not bad, good actualy. To bad the level is so small, the autor can get higher points if he maked his level bigger I think. You can jump good in this level, hop around freely, and their even some secrets here and their. Good use of warps, everything works good and not so much action, that pitty. No realy bugs in the gameplay, but to short so a 6.5.

Item placement is below-normal. Their are lighing some coins but their isn’t a bonus warp. That’s a small detail that some people forget and that lowers points, that’s here also the case. Some food stuff, for eyecandy I guess because you can’t get a Sugar-rush from it, but I like some cherry’s here and there, good spreaded. Also some jummy donuts. :) What I realy miss are gems and ammo. Their are I thought 12 gems in the whole level, that’s far to less. A basic level has at least 70 gems in it. Okay, and now the ammo. Particually nothing, 2 boxes of Seeker (gun 4) ammo. That’s all. For the rest you have to use your blaster. In overall food, can do better but okay. Gems and ammo, to less. A 4 for this. Practice with it.

The fun factor is not bad. You can have some fun with it but not to much because of the size of it. Not to much 1 line stuff, so this deserves an 5.7 for the fun.
_____________________________________
Enemy placement is bad. In one part to much enemies and in the other part you can run freely around. In the end you face 3 Tuf bosses, a bit to much if you have only low weapon 4 ammo and a blaster left if you ask me. A 4 for this.

The result of this level is below-normal. It has some good points, but to much bad points. I enjoyd it the 3 minutes I have played it. Here are the ratings, I will give an average rating:
Eyecandy: 5
Gameplay: 6.5
Item Placement: 4
Fun Factor: 5.7
Enemy placement: 4

Total: 25,2 points : 5 is an 5,04 so an 5.
Personally, I like death traps. They make you die in this game, which never happens to me. :P
I can´t review sinse I´m using version 1.23.
