Can someone help me with this MCE Mystery?
I was working on a level where I used a bomb crate with fourteen turtle shells in it. When I tested the level and opened the crate, the Jazz 2 logo came out of the bomb crate, 14 times. You can get this MCE when you set the pulse speed of a generator pulse light on 41, wich is the event number of the turtle shell.... But now it is getting really weird: Then I placed a turtle shell a few tiles away from the crate and ran the level. When I opened the crate, 14 turtle shells came out and the turtle shell a few tiles away was dissapeared! Does anyone understand this? ![]()

Well, I did that before. But this is different somehow.

This is basically the case for a lot of events. Smoke rings, enemies, and the like would show up as other, weird stuff like black vines, jj2 logos and the like unless there is a sprite of them already in the level (i.e a Caterpillar in the level, or a trigger rock with a generator would prevent smoke rings coming out from crates to look like floating jazzes, and Doggy Dogs placed in levels would prevent the other Doggy Dogs placed in crates to just not appear).

This is indeed covered in my article. Unless you actually place a turtle shell or normal turtle event in the level, the sprites for turtle shells will not be loaded, so the contents of the crate won't have the proper sprites to use.

Well, I deleted the MCE.
I really got sick of it. But I still don't get that the turtle shell in the crate becomes a JJ2 logo.

Like Unknown already put, JJ2 doesn't find the right sprites so it picks others instead. That's why you get the jj2 logo.

I don't think there's a difference between 1.23 and TSF, but I could be wrong.

Yes, trigger zones are useable in 1.24
That gives the game a more switch-like trigger.... And it gives the game a level called "QUEEN OF BOARD". It's boring, fraustrating and virtually impossible to solve.

To clear up things, the Trigger Zone came with the 1.23 patch and is thus also included in 1.24 (TSF). If you install the original game from the CD you get version 1.20, which doesn't have it.
However, I wasn't talking about differences between 1.23 and TSF, I was talking about differences between 1.23 and TSF when using MCEs. =P
