Do you put your name on ALL your tilesets? If you don't, people might forget you made them.

Of course.

Why would anyone use any tileset for a hotel (besides a hotel tileset)?
I mean come on, if a tileset doesnt have stuff like toilets or whatever you need to live properly, you cant make any good hotel. Okay most hotels are crappy, but know that if people from j2lc would decide to make a hotel, it would be great instead of crappy like most hotels out there. Also, test levels should not be shared in my opinion, they are only to improve your own skill and you will often build them to how good YOU are not anyone else, so it will always be too hard or too easy for others.

Hotels can be made out of anything. And no, I won't actually kill anyone, as in murder :P. You don't have to worry about that.

Why doesn't somebody like evilmike make a grand hotel pack that is so beautiful everyone tries to copy it, with the result we get better hotel levels. :P

Ow well... Fquist prolly has experience with that. Let me see I was going to say something.... um..... ah ...... mmmmf..... gargle..... Ah yes... I'd say we all go and build HNS level instead of hotels! Yes HNS rocks!

No, he really meant that. You see, vision is directly linked to your digestive system. I'll expliain.
When you look at something, pipes behind your eyes carry the stuff you see down to an area near your stomach where the stuff you see is turned into liquid (it can't be inside your head because there isn't enough room). The liquid then gets carried into your brain and flows through it which allows you to see stuff. The left over liquid is evaportated in stomach acid and exhaled through the nose (not the mouth). The thing is, when the liquid is being evaporated, some of it mixes with what is in your stomach. Normally it won't do anything, but in some cases it will upset the stomach, usually if you looked at something you would rather not have looked at if you had the choice. In very bad cases, it will cause you to throw up. NOTE: This is a complete lie. Only an idiot would think this is true. Are you an idiot? Thought so. Just kidding :P

I remember way-way-way back, when J2C was thriving, a young Xeno worked diligently on a new lvl concept. He was going to make a level that he thought no one else created. He started working on this level with the tileset that is Colonial Day. Now this level of his was in his lvl-making infancy, and he wasn't that good at them yet. This level contained many bugs and the sort. But it was a big hit with the people and everyone was asking him, "May I have a house?" This, was the beginning of hotel levels, or as they should be called, town levels. This level of his is called, Town. It was submitted to J2C along with a few other levels and there he was credited with the idea of Town levels. The purpose behind this story? You guys have too much time. Nah, that's not it, the purpose is, I started what hotels should've been, but they turned out differently. People started adding hideous ideas such as chatrooms, jails, overcrowding, etc. These ideas led hotels to what they are today, very very very very very irritating. OK enough of the story. Also, test levels are extremely overused, and are all the same stuff over and over again. Also, almost everything in the test levels are never used in an actual level anyhow. No one will come face to face with an "avoid the grey area or start over in this windy tunnel" thing, mostly because it only proves that most ppl get bored. If that were in a normal JJ2 MP or SP level, most people won't play it simply because of that and the irritation of it all.

IMHO people's names in levels should be limited to credit for making the tileset/level etc. or as a simple easter egg.
Hotels sound a lot like playing "house" or "dolls" to me. Like, "Let's all go jump into the pool!". ;P Not like I'm putting down playing with dolls or anything. It's just I wouldn't play with dolls, me being a guy and all (not to mention this sort of thing is a bit childish?). ;P It's not an RPG because you firstly (and most importantly), you don't fight, and also in that you don't get upgrades. And yes, it started out fairly legit with Xeno's idea but it just got worse as people changed the idea. |
