Doing a transfer!
I'm going to transfer Springboard Mountain from tsf to jazz2. Springboard Mountain is an ok treasure hunt map I made about 2 years ago using the easter99 tileset! When transferred to jazz2 it will be using the carrottus tileset. Now the problem or the biggest major stumbling block is mainly the time this will take to do...
Is there any simple way which I can copy the level (ctrl+c doesn't work) from tsf jcs into jazz2 jcs? This will save me a lot of time and I won't have to do the transfer through the tile for tile process! What should I do? thanks in advance! |

I don't think you can copy between TSF and 1.23 JCS. You can copy between various levels in the same JCS, but that's not what you want.

I think that's what he ment (rebuild it).

Unknown Rabbit: Are you sure it is 1000% impossible to do? I doubt you've done it before! I don't think there will be version confilcts since its only tiles that are being copied!

The thing is, instead of the standard Ctrl+C Ctrl+V, JCS uses B and Enter/Shift+Enter to copy and paste tiles. While you can copy some tiles, load another level, and paste them in, I very much doubt you can do this Between Different Programs.

Yes, converting a TSF JCS made level to the 1.23 JCS is not possible, as far as i know. At least i didn't find a way yet (in the past three years, that is).
A TSF to 1.23 level converter is one of the things this community is still waiting for (i recommend those wannabe jazz 2 hackers to make something useful like that instead of cheating-this-cheating-that programs). |

I also think the only way to transfer is to do it by hand: looking how the lvl looks like in TSF, and then taking those tiles in the 1.23-JCS and placing them...

Thx but it crashes. Probably because of the easter99 tileset and I used the tsf jcs all the way in making this one, even changing it to carrotus and trying to open it in reg jcs would make it crash. Back to manual converting..
So far in the conversion I've added in the spaz and jazz playerstarts and I'm almost done building the center of the map of all the routes! The map is about 35-40% complete! |

I'm nearly finished with the 3rd and 4th layers and ready to go on with the other layers the map is about . So far the map looks absolutely gorgeous even better than the tsf version. Its about 70-75% complete!
Anyone made a good proggie yet?(I would have finished this weeks ago) |

He already did. Besides, it wouldn't work, as the level he's trying to copy uses a TSF tileset.

Nitro, I tried that a long time ago and it didn't work.
Anyways the conversion is 99.9% complete in other words you can say it's just about finished. I had to start from scratch and do the whole thing over, it was good making some improvements to both levels but it was a pain not to mention the amount of times 1.23jcs crashed on me for no cr*p reason while converting the level. The map will be in my upcoming treasure pack that should be out in time for easter. ![]() |
