An Assault level.

Well, you just played Abandoned Skyscraper Assault, and that's a good indication of what Assault is like. However, Assault levels vary and you may find yourself playing entirely different Assaults.

There's Double Assault (like the Abandoned Skyscraper Assault level you saw in Pyro's server) and Classic Assault.

You're not helping him, guys...

Assault is a game mode taken from Unreal Tournament, with a few twists. Basically, you have two teams: the Attacking team and the Defending team. The objective for the Attacking team is to smash all the trigger crates of the Defending team, and the Defending team has to (of course) prevent that from happening. Simple as that.

And would you mind not using big letters like that? It gets annoying, plus it may be considering spamming.

You attack the crates to open up pathways that allow you to get more access to the other teams base.
EDIT- I haven't played assault in a while, but AFAIK you want to get into the base so you can take their to score

The level is usually a large tunnel-like one, with doors to be opened and trigger crates to buttstomp. One team is attacks, and it is their mission to open all doors, triggers, and overcome all obstacles, in order to get to the defending team’s base or the final target, usually a trigger crate or destruct scenery, which must be destroyed. The other team must prevent the attacking team from reaching their target by using whatever means necessary (although brute force is often used, rather than diplomacy). For most assault levels, the defending team can only win if they keep the attacking team out of their base for a given amount of time (which is set before the game starts). The attacking team can only win by destroying their target before the time limit is up.

The first pubicly released assault level was assault3 by Syntax. It was intended to be part of a 3-level pack by several people, hence the name, but Syntax’s level was the only one to be released. The concept was inspired by the Assault mode in the Unreal Tournament game.

Seems so. It's just not totally finished yet functionality-wise so there's been no news announcements.
