Razz Arena - new site online!!!
hi all since the old thread i made is no longer in the list i made a new one.
here are some new shots of the game: ![]() did some re styling on the shading here. ![]() redid the skin, (how does it look) you say it i dont know :P ![]() this one is a little older

olsen. really the 1st thing i did when i jumped on board was. clean up the file structures, used stock quake animation and bot files on spazz and jazz. remodled part of spaz since piets originals were spaz head on jazz body with a spaz skin. and made them playable bots. from there ive primarly done coding. now ive kinda slowed down alittle on that cause im tryin to implement things that i dont have much idea on where to start. but ive been doin what i know how to do. on the side ive been doin other things. like a few tuts. run a few ideas around.

Mcdougal, you did a really good work on razz arena, and are still doing that! i am not angry of you, i think you guys rock! Hope the cel shading tut will be up soon! Writing this in school so i cant try the .pk3 tut. will try it when i am at dad´s place soon!
You guys ROCK! will try on a Trailer for razz, have vegas studio so i can make really cool effects! Also will try on a new background, hope you will like it! I have one problem though, when i double tap the jump button with spaz, he doe´snt doublejump. Why?

i know your not. mad at me. im just sayin that when i got on board alota things got cleaned up, fixed, and updated.
the dbl jump/tap system does work its just a bit wonky, as said from the guy that let me use it. it is to. some times its all timming. ive been number changing on it makin it better. the numbers that were pluged in it originaly were to sensitive. makin it hard for even me to play. i have a clip of Razz Arena showin off the seeker rocket but my file host denied me. Ill see about loadin it on piets server soon. took them 3 months to tell me no. |

I think you should go for a lighter style (aka JJ2) because that would fit better, but that's my opinion. Also, in that level screenshot, the texture is kinda repetitive.

Okay, I played Razz Arena. What I can say:
-The grass outside the castle is FLAT. Plain flat. Bump it a little. -Some names are wrong. Rename Bouncher to Bouncer (you use inproper spelling, you!) or even better BBT Bouncer). Rename Shotgun to Pepperspray, and Rocket Launcher to Seeker. -The voices suck. And they have bad words. May I and JSZ Spaz give you voice samples for Jazz and Spaz? Just give me a list of voice strings needed. -Use more wall textures than just the big block. The level has very poor eyecandy. -In JJ2 all weapons are in Blaster, but I think this one isn't good in FPP. I can design new weapon looks for you.

Using the same gun all the time in FPP is wrong and confusing. Big guns claim respect, smaller ones are basic or light weapons. Besides, in FPP it's important to see what gun your enemy is carrying. That would be good in JJ2, too. Let's say you see somebody running straight at you with a Seeker Launcher. You're trapped in a corner. And then, all of sudden, he switches to Frostbiter because that previous gun was out of ammo...
Also, if all weapons fit into this one baby, why do we need to collect new Basters with different dot colors? I say - different weapons, new weapons, new working systems. Weapons in JJ2 are good for a platformer - but in FPP they need a lot of enhancement.

the collecting of blasters was only an early stage. in newer versions we will make jj2 style ammo to pickup. we like the idea of having only one gun per player. beleve me if we would make more guns it would have been more simple becouse that is what quake3 normaly has, (McDougal is coding his *** off to get the jj2 style weapon system working) :P

i normaly wouldnt do this, but heres a current my current update file.
************************************************* Version 1.1 heres what has been changed/added since the 1.0 set ------------------------------------ all weapon models have been changed jazz has his blaster if jazz // disabled \\ spaz has his blaster if spaz ------------------------------------- sp button has been removed ------------------------------------- rocket laucher been changed from a single shot to a 3 way shot spread pattern. ------------------------------------- Plasma gun is now called Freezer and its ammo is now called Freezer Cells Rocket laucher is called 3 Way ------------------------------------ Blaster now shoots projectiles. New Rocket model. Seeker Rocket model made bigger. more visable. should be easyer to shoot down mid flight. ------------------------------------ Weapon Icons on weapon select removed. Name and ammo box still appears when weapon is cycled to ------------------------------------ Weapon spawns in ALL MAPS have been fixed for the mod. ALL maps will show spawn alterations. All weapons now spawn as ammo. ammo is the as the weapon. example. rocket laucher weapon use to spawn. now rocket ammo spawns in its place. ------------------------------------ Blaster has its own ammo model on the hud. Seeker, Bouncer have thier own ammo models both in game and on the hud. ------------------------------------ ************************************************ Q3a has a 16 weapon limit. im tryin ideas and methods of a work around. there are ways to boost it to a 32weapon cap but we would loose the powerup system. |
