Cheaters. How do you deal with them?
I was hosting a game of battle 1 when some guy named 'neobeo' joined. I started fighting him and after a while he would automatically home in on me, as if I had a warp target stuck to me. I used lure and bait methods to see if it was lag or a trainer. Sure enough, it was not lag. I gave no warnings. Just typed "CHEATER." and "BAN 2".
A harsh method perhaps, but they have to learn that cheating, to put it bluntly, sucks. |

Neobeo is on this board, perhaps he will have something more interesting to say on the subject...

oh i was sure banning me was a good idea...what with completely no one in the server lol
just a note: i only cheat when there's only the server and no other players, bcos the game "hasn't started" anyway... EDIT: man, how could i have forgotten to post the main content of what i wanted to type??? anyway, i was working on an "anti-warp" program... more description can be found on "Megawarp is ILLEGAL" page 2... basically i was testing it on myself in Primordial's server but it did not detect my "warping" for some reason... still working on it

But it does give you an unfair amount of roasts before other people join.

oh... if u had checked more properly, did Primordial say anything about roasting?
I was just warping around.... (see my EDIT in my last post)... not roasting... But I do agree with you spaztic, for those who warp around and roast everyone, its quite unfair (I wasn't doing that!!!)

There is also a bug, not very common from my knoledge but I get it once and a while from what I think is a result of lag.
I warp around incontrollably and sometimes there are lots of clones of me in the background behind me and it warps me into walls sometimes also.

Neobeo, one of the J2HG rules is no cheating in a server without the permission of the host.
So if you feel you need to test stuff in other people's servers, make sure you ask permission first. (Source: http://link.idlegames.com/j2hg/pol.php)

A different topic.
What to do about swarmers? Swarm: v. To run by firing five to twenty-five homing missiles around one's target, so that the aforementioned target has no means of escape. Swarmer: n. One who swarms. Is this a legal move, or should swarmers be kicked or something? I mean, it's a cheap, n00bish way to attack, doncha think?

That technique is fine. I use it at least. I think that basically any non-cheating move in JJ2 is fair, except for shields.

"Then what about the bank robber server before? Where did you got choose Electro Blasters? What about all the fastfires?
" That was in the Same Server when you and i Cheated, I Roasted you how did you get so fast 900 coins? Cheating indeed :P and the Fastfire that was RF"s They looked like FF's Because of the huge Lagg :-P |

No, not that time. And the game where already over when I began.
The time before, there when the server almost was fill up. |

At the end of the day, there is really little anyone can do to stop cheating, although it can be minimised. As said earlier, I'm working on a program similar to that of Cataclysm... although I dont know how much that'll help

Newspaz: Perhaps if cheaters learnt from their actions, that would be a viable method. In my experience however, they don't seem to care. I don't have the time to be missing half the battle trying to stop a cheater from cheating. |

From reading all this is this thread, I have come to a conclusion:
I realise that many of you are sensitive towards cheating. I personally dont see why. I always allow the use of cheats in my server. Not because I myself cheat, but I don't think it is such a big deal or a big fuss to make about. Maybe I can understand if the person is using a laser shield, or lagging the server. Or if you are using an illegal program (MegaWarp etc.) then you deserve to be kick/banned. In this case, I would also "punish" them. Ok... this is just a personal opinion... do NOT attack me back saying I am wrong or anything... its a thought. And i still understand that certain people will never allow cheating...

And I wouldn't trust anyone in that server with my address.
