Probably because it's midi, and uses a non-standard instrument set. Record an MP3 version. ;P

It is midi, and uses a standard instrument set. Namely, GM. The problem is, Screwbase outputs the songs in MIDI format 0, which defaults all the instruments to GP and Standard Kit 1. Which is teh sux0riffic.

Thx for the hepl, Pho... I owe ya one...

Problem solved-ish.

I got my friend Doc K to turn my MIDIs into MP3, so I should have them in by, at latest, the 29th. I know, that's a bit of procrastination, but I don't like asking favours of other people. Anyway, he says he should have the MP3s ready by Thursday, so that'll be particularly rux.

Now I just have to find my way around dMusic.com...

I know it's a little late to say this, but I'm hoping that someone will make/has made a Diamondus remix. That song rocks.

Indeedy. Although technically the JJ2 song already IS a Diamondus Remix. A remix *of* the remix would rock.

/me runs about screaming.

Well, I have the MP3s, but they're kinda not quite all there. Doc K foogled up his CakeWalk, and now three of my four entries have no snare drum, the fourth one's snare sounds like a click, and all the tempos are messed up, not to mention that Crysilis' synth lead sounds like a flute. BUT I will try to have them in by the 30th.

If not... are there any other opportunities for stuff like this? ~_~

Don't sweat it, the deadline can be stretched a little IF you state why. And because you've done so... just get it in by the weekend.

Current number of entries: 11
Current size: nearing the 15Megs

And as you've all noticed from this thread there's still more coming.

W00t-AY!

Well, Crysilis never got back to me in time, but Doc K did a helluva job remixing Tubelectric, Muckamok, and Acidius. If I'm able to find my way around D'Music.com in time to host them there, I'll have them to you ASAP.

/me runs around the room screaming.

JSZ JAZZ!!! YOU'VE BEEN RUNNING AROUND BEHIND MY BACK FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS?!?!? HOW COULD YOU?!?!? *Sob*

Actually, I like the idea of being included in Tasteless music. We need more publicity than just J2O.

/4I Falcon: Acidius? So, I've got a whole JJ1 planet named after me, huh? No, really. What did you really mean?

No.

Acidius is that last planet in the final cinematic of JJ1, where Eva is dangling over a cliff in a cage. You'll notice that the bubbling liquid beneath her is acid. Hence the name.

Could someone give the download a try at the Hideout (http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/)? Can't listen to the files here as I'm at the university right now.

YaY.
YAY.

Me likey. Let me go over the songs by person: (sorry if I sound like I'm reviewing a level on J2O, I can't help it.)

4I Falcon
Sweet remixes of Acidius and Muckamok, but the instrument you used to replace luvhorn in Tubelectric hurt my ears. Good job!
4 stars

ElectroPizza
Verra cool. No problems that I can see. I like the samples used, and the nice start to Orbitus especially.
5 stars

Haze
cool slow mix of Technoir. Great samples, great beat, er... I don't really have anything else useful to say.
5 stars

Syntax
nice remix... Of my least favorite song in JJ2. However, you have spiced it up a whole bunch, and it sounds verra cool. Sounds like you used mainly the samples already in the song, which is a big accomplishment. Very good.
5 stars

Phoenix Wing
nice remixes... Of my 2 least favorite songs in JJ2. However, I like the hell remix, sounds sorta like Jazz. The water song, however... Isn't really my type. Ah well, it sounds nice.
4 stars

Stripe
*RIP**CRUMPLECRUMPLECRUMPLE**TEARSHREADSLICERIP**S TOMPSTOMPSTOMP*
I. HATE. OGG VORBIS. I unistalled the player because it took up too much space, and now look! *sulks*
Edit: I got Winamp now. So I can play it now. Yay. Very interesting remix, but it doesn't sound that much like labrat. Either that or I haven't played enough JJ2.
4 stars

So, that pretty much sums it up. Yay.

Acid: filter edit. It changed the asterisks into blips. Fixed now.

Actually, only one of the samples was borrowed from the original (the first one, I marked credit for it).

*snip**snip* Too much space? What player can that be? Use XMPlay (http://www.xmplay.com/). Just 245.4k plus "*REALLY WHITTY CATCHPHRASE CENSORED*".

It is nice to have so many musically tallented individuals around here. Too bad I won't know until I get to fixing my good computer so the firewall will funcion again. (A trojan disabled it or something). (-) AOL+Hacker. AOL loves hackers (and spammers), they get along great. Sure AOL gets on their case, but this whole time, the way they make their software pats hackers and spammers on the back. AOL is a security risk.

I was going to suggest a Midevo remix that uses both the vocals from the JJ1 midevo, and the vocals of the JJ2 midevo.

I just got a MIDI program, maybe I may make something in a future disk? LOL, that'll be another 5 megs to the download. ^_^

Nope, it's an in-joke among XMPlay users. (involving Brits and peanuts) And I know what it means (or "what one would think it means"), and I realize that people may object to the phrase.
Now, where's that edit-button?

Okay, finally got to listen to the stuff.

Pho's stuff I've heard; love it completely.
Haze's Technoir Remix is really cool, and all of Piz's ones rock as well. I'm pleasantly surprised at 4I's remixes as well, they're pretty good (though the bass drum sounds a little more like a tom).

Er, I had no part in the remixment. I just composed, and Doc K did the re-formatting and -mixing.

But it's all good.
