Screenshots for "Community Photo"
I am currently in the process of attempting to make a large picture of all the sprites from both the inactive and active members of the Jazz 2 community that I can get for a very large "who's who" image of sorts. The following is the background color which must be used:
NOTE: This exact color can be found in the "Cool Day" tileset as a background near the bottom. The image:

Any pose is fine. You can even do the thing with the bird. Be creative, and go wild. Even edit it slightly in PhotoShop if you want to try to do a little trick (just make it look like it would be possible in the game, even if not in a level with nothing else in it, like making a picture of your sprite bouncing off a spring (as small as possible, remember!). Nothing too extravagant, though, and preferably nothing larger than 1.5 times the normal size of your character at most.

Including the name?

I've got mine done.
Here's mine... And here's the one I did that was too extravagant... I read that "too extravagant" part a little too late :P... Hmm... I'm puttin' this baby in my Toca tileset! Hoo Ha! :P The images above are linked from thumbnails at my MSN site. They have short enough addresses that they work on the JCF... however they are compressed. The higher quality, uncompressed JPEG is located here... http://groups.msn.com/purrhead/ofnoi...to&PhotoID=243 |

Well, there's me as The Server, or me as Monolith. Which do you want? The Server was online more often, and people will probably recognize him better, but when I've actually played, I play as Monolith.
Also, do you really want that as the background color, or can I be lazy and send a gif or png with transparency? :P

I've sent you mine.

Why don't you want transparent gifs instead? That way the background doesn't matter

Ah..30th should work, I can get the sprite until then..
Just a question: Is Hare's "extravagant" sprite TOO extravagant already? =P And another.. I never play online (since I can't ). Could I be inserted nontheless?

By the way, please try to avoid sending uncompressed JPGs. It causes the background to have non-perfect color and I have to spend time cleaning it up. ~ Traft Last edited by Trafton; Sep 4, 2003 at 03:31 PM. |

I have a big problem with trying to get my image into a GIF, and keeping the color quality. Paint doesn't like to use any pallete but it's own. My copy of GIMP doesn't save GIF files, and my Dpixed doesn't accept files with more than 256 colors.
I can highly customize the compression settings when I use GIMP. There is an option to make the colors more accurate, or something, and I clicked that... but I'm not sure if that helped any or not... some sort of 1x1x1 setting. I don't know what it does, really, other than make the colors more accurate, and the file size larger. Some sort of compression ratio thingy? Oh, and if other people are doing cool stuff to their images and adding clothes and stuff, then go ahead and include my heavily edited version. ^_^ that'd be cool. Oh, and Piccolo, if you want to include yours, you can easily start a network server so your colors and name will show up. The game doesn't have to be connected to a network at all, and it will still run. |

A .PNG, if you can make it, is fine; really, all I need is so that it can be pasted onto an image of that background. Transparant images are also great. ~ Traft |

Hmm...
Hold on Trafton, if you didn't already fix up my image, then I know a way I can get it into GIF format. I don't want to give you any extra work. If you didn't already edit it, you can tell me, and I'll get to work fixing it up. |

This'll help out a bit...
http://www.msnusers.com/purrhead/Documents/CoolDay.j2t Its the Cool Day tileset. ^_^ |

If someone happens to host a CoolDay level and I happen to join the server not using Xjj2 and the level happens to have that background and I happen to be in a cool pose and I happen to have my finger near F12... yeah, I'll probably take a picture.

I'll need some time to fix my image up, though. I'm going to use my Toca's Fantasy pallete, then copy and paste the image into Dpixed. The colors will automatically convert to the closest colors in the pallete... but my TF pallete is back home. So it'll take a couple days or so.

After reading this, I think mine might be a little too extravegant(Sp?). Should I ditch the rocket launcher or is it okay?

Mine:
It was originally bigger, with a tubeelectric background (I was messing around with a memory editor on a server without anyone else) and I had the maximum non-headshot fastfire rate and lots of toaster ammo. As well as too much time on my hands.

Okay, I changed mine, and re-sent it. First of all, I cropped it so that it's quite a bit smaller. Secondly, I erased the flames and the missile, they were too attention-drawing. Thirdly, I changed the name so that it's actually like in JJ2. I kept the rocket launcher because it doesn't look overly foreign. (After all, it is a redrawn blaster)
