Well Tournaments
So building a tournament looks sounds good and easy but it isnt you must build and design a kind of qualifying like jdcseason the rankings 1 to 30 join the tournament and then we will see who will win it sounds great it may look great but is not

BlurredD hosted a Well Tournament
I decided for no apparent reason to make a Well Tournament. I made a Well Level to go with the Well Tournament. Four players participated. The results:
1st Place: CanadianDR 2nd Place: Strato 3rd Place: Labratkid TF DQ'd from idling: Blacky[Si] CanadianDR gets to see new stuff. Congratulations. |

Well Tournament 2
I made a second Well Tournament with a slightly improved level. It went pretty well IMO. The participants:
Dizzy DM CanadianDR blur[si] Strato Blacky[Si] FireSworD DM EvilMike DM ThO_Odin314 The results: 1st Place: Dizzy DM 2nd Place: EvilMike DM 3rd Place: blur[si] 4th Place: FireSworD DM Everyone else got knocked out in the first round. Dizzy wins the prize. Watch out for more spontaneous Well Tournaments in the near future. |

Well Tournament 3
LRK was probably referring to Shaney's original post. But anyway, I hosted the third WT today with the most players yet. This 16 player tourney didn't go nearly as well as the other Well Tournaments, but it shows that it is possible and it can work with a bit of tweaking. In the latest version of the WT level, I added a spectating area, which meant a lot of bomb scenary, which resulted in the powerups not showing up--at least this is what I think. I'll be sure to fix all the problems I found for the next tournament I host spontaneously.
The participants: FireSworD DM R3ptile TF AvKCC Enigma TF CanadianÐR Pyromanus GpW Blacky[Si] Strato dalspots CYRO Thunder TF Satan [si] SuperJazz GpW the WINNER Skull[TF] CCDarkSonicXSD The Results: 1st Place: FireSworD DM 2nd Place: the WINNER 3rd Place: Strato 4th Place: dalspots And that's the tournament. FS wins free BlurredD merchandise. I'll considering giving 2nd and 3rd place something for the next 16 player tournament if it goes well. |

Yeah, we had some problems in that one. I pwned Pyro badly in round 1, but lost to Strato in round 2.

Haha, indeed Strato. It was a bad idea of Blur to let those two fight against each other.
Maybe you should take the power ups out Blur. Or at least make a bigger waiting room. If people don't have room to move while they're waiting, they'll get nervous (not to say stupid) and probably start pushing each other into the arena. ![]() Oh, and I still think dalspots should've won this.

I've already made two versions of the WT level: one has powerups, carrots, and no spectating room, while the other has a spectating room with no powerups or carrots. I'll be hosting the latter for the next tourney to see how it plays.

Well Tournament 4
This Well Tournament was a little... different. It didn't go exactly as planned so I improvised.
The Participants: Salamander DM Strato Blacky[Si] CanadianÐR GenEx The Results: 1st Place: Strato 2nd Place: Blacky[Si] 3rd Place: CanadianÐR 4th Place: Salamander DM The thing with GenEx is he went idle when it was his turn, so I decided to keep the tournament going without him, hoping that a few others would join. Turns out it was just the six of us. So the tourney went on, the four others players were placed, and then I decided to do something new: let 2nd and 3rd place get a chance to win a prize. What I planned was 2nd place had to beat me once and 3rd place had to beat me two out of three times. BR beat me, then I beat Canadian. I owed BR a prize, but next came my idea of double or nothing. BR accepted the challenge. I ended up beating him the second time around so Blacky ended up with nothing. I offered the same double or nothing proposal to Strato, he accepted, and he lost as well. But this time it was close--very close. I killed Strato while I fell down the well the last time with one heart left. I decided to be nice and let him keep the one level he earned. Then there was GenEx. I remembered that I didn't give him a chance to play in the WT, so I decided to give him one chance to win a prize if he could beat me. GenEx didn't win, which meant Strato was the only person to walk away with the prize he earned. And so that's how the tournament went. Most likely I'll let 2nd and 3rd get a chance to win something again next time, as well as the double or nothing thing. BTW, this version of WT had no powerups or carrots. I liked it after I got used to it. Feel free to voice your opinion. |

Well Tournament 5
Aside from some of the last players that joined my server not being able to play in the tourney, I think this Well Tournament wasn't bad at all. In this version of WT, there were powerups and a spectating room. I forgot to add two +1 carrots in the arena, but I'll make sure I'll do that for the next tourney.
The Participants: Enigma TF dalspots ChippieCCXSD the WINNER R3ptile TF sNooZe XSD CelL FoR AvK CC The Results: 1st Place: Enigma TF 2nd Place: R3ptile TF 3rd Place: CelL FoR 4th Place: the WINNER As for the Bonus Round, as I'm now calling it, CelL won once but lost twice, and Reptile lost both tries, so second and third place did't get a prize. Enigma refused the Double or Nothing, therefore he just keeps his prize. Also, since Reptile didn't know beforehand that second place doesn't automatically win a prize in an 8 player WT, I will list how the prizes work for each type of tournament. 4 player WT: • Only 1st place wins a prize. 8 player WT: • 1st place wins a prize. • 2nd place must beat the server 1 out of 2 tries to win a prize. • 3rd place must beat the server 2 out of 3 tries to win a prize. • Double or Nothing for anyone who wins a prize. 16 player WT: • 1st place wins 3 prizes. • 2nd place wins 2 prizes. • 3rd place wins 1 prize. 32 player WT: • Tentative, but you can imagine there will be a lot of prizes. So now it's official. If anyone can give me a good enough reason to change these standards, then I'll make some amendments. Next Well Tournament will be for 16 players, so if I host a server and not enough players join, I won't have a WT on that day. |

Nice reasoning. Actually, I tend to host old levels that I think are second rate, like Backwash and Air Base VII, and on occasion a few new levels right after I make them, such as Anarchy Inn and Roastathon JTF, just to see how people react. But I prefer testing out levels I think may be good with JDC events since a lot players will be forced to play to win. Most of the unhosted levels I have left are decent in my opinion.

Well Tournament 6
This was the first 16 player Well Tournament that actually wasn't too bad. The only thing that could be considered a problem was the two forfeits with Kakashi and CelL I had to make to keep the tournament going, but other than that, everything went alright.
The Participants: Snooze XSD SkulL TF R3ptile XSD DizZy DM Dalspots CelL FoR the WINNER Sabaspaz AvK FireSworD DM Green Plant EvilSpaz ironlightTF DarkSonicXSD Kakashi[GpW] Gummi[GpW] The Results: 1st Place: FireSworD DM 2nd Place: Snooze XSD 3rd Place: DarkSonicXSD 4th Place: the WINNER First place gets three prizes; second place, two; and third place, one prize. They can choose from the nine prizes I've listed. The Prizes: 1.) Secret CTF Level #1 2.) Secret CTF Level #2 3.) Secret SP Level #1 4.) Secret SP Level #2 5.) Secret Concept Level #1 6.) Secret Concept Level #2 7.) Secret Unfinished Level 8.) Secret Secret Level 9.) Super Secret Secret Secret (Worth 3 prizes) I intend to do something extra different for the next tourney, so watch out for the next spontaneous WT.

Well Tournament 7
In this WT (version 3), I changed the rules so that players win by pushing their opponent out of the well twice. Any player who is roasted gets his or her extra life back, which is with a coin in this level. The level didn't play exactly how I wanted it to, but it wasn't a big deal. I pretty much enjoyed this version.
The Participants: AvK DM FireSworD DM Green Plant Sciz CT [si] Blacky[si] Silly Knight RAGNAROK DR ThO_Odin314 The Results: 1st Place: Blacky[si] 2nd Place: FireSworD DM 3rd Place: RAGNAROK DR 4th Place: Green Plant In the Bonus Round, FireSworD and Ragnarok lost in all of their tries, so no prize for them. Blacky[si] avoided the Double or Nothing challenge, so he keeps the one prize he won. So that's the Well Tournament. I can't guarantee something new for the next WT.
