Hey there, just got JJ2 (Can you believe I got a copy for $3.75? :P ). I was wondering: in JCS, how can you get it to automatically kill Jazz if he falls off the bottom of the screen, like in the Sonic games? I'm only just starting this level, and when I fall off and hit the bottom, I seem to be floating on the bottom of the screen. :P If this isn't possible to implement, that's okay. I don't really need it, but it would make the level seem a bit more, polished.

I thought you were EvilMike for a second.

S
S S R B H S = Sucker Tube (pointing down) R = Red Base B = Blue Base H = Something that hurts I think that's the basic method. If you don't want your character to lose a life each time, remove the hurting event. It's best to have the pit actually warp you to someplace with this, so you don't have to have hundreds of bases at the bottom of the screen. |

I got my jj2 for 2$ :P
And you could do it the way unknown said or S=suckertube (y speed down) S=suckertube (y speed down) B=Base(team=1) S=suckertube (y speed down) S=suckertube (y speed down) S=suckertube (y speed down) S=suckertube (y speed down) 3=3DSpikeboll(no movement, nothing necessarily) ^ The way above makes you lose a life when you fall. Make sure to cover it all in layer 3. If you need more help, download BlurredD's Unleashed Demo pack in the downloads section of j2o. Edit: Bah, I've just noticed I've basically said what Violet has. =\.

![]() Edit: Well, this doesn't exactly kill Jazz immediately, but it'll do. And what are the Bases there for? They just look weird floating in mid-air overlapping each other, with a whole bunch of Eva clones standing next to them. O.o Last edited by FoxBlitzz; Mar 20, 2004 at 09:00 PM. |

That would cause the player a slow, painful, death. =( Quick kills are more preferable, but in the end its your choice anyways. :P

Trust us; it does work, and it has worked before, so the problem is on your end.

Isn't there suppost to be a spike ball there also? Or is that only if you want to loose a life?

In single player games, think of it like this. You're on the blue team in CTF, and if you score one more time, you win the game. Except you lose the game if you score in single player. If you have the red flag (you'll get the red flag if you touch the red base, obviously), and you touch the blue base, you die. The message, "LOSER," will appear at the bottom of the screen in the process. BlurredD is usually credited on finding this method (he did it abit differently, though) because his level was the first where people saw this done, but I had found it out one day, too, and never relized that it wasn't done before. So it's not really clear on who found out how to do this, not that it matters. Anyway, if you still have problems, let us know. Remember, don't put the events on the VERY bottom of the screen. If I were you, I would put the blue bases two or three tiles from the very bottom, and the red bases two or three tiles above the blue bases. Remember, gravity does not affect the bases, and you can have as many as you want. Just don't put lots of bases in a multiplayer game, because there are numerous bugs that can occur when you do so, for example, sometimes only the host can see who has the flag. Only do this if you know what you're doing (i.e. making an Assassination level or something).
PS: I did not proofread this because I'm lazy. Yay. ;D PSS: My little sister (Evol Weevil, as you JJ2ers might know her) used to use the name, "EvilMonkey," when she played online games. Interesting.

I think my earliest level using the CTF Base Death thing is from October 01, though I obviously knew about it before then. Blur probably invented it actually being useful and (maybe) causing it to lose you a life.
