He didn't ask if he could get it, but where.
You can get it by asking someone who has it. Too bad most of them don't want to give it out either because it's "illegal" or because they don't want every pack to have a J2E with them (did you know people can actually choose to unzip the J2E or not?). Anyway, try Cell. And pageclaim. |

I think it is because there have been way too much contests lately and there's no real prize (money or whatever). How about this: Only one active contest would be allowed on the JCF, it would be made sticky and "official" and the winner would have the "first" right to start a new contest, or to choose to leave it to the next volunteer. It would probably be better for everyone
![]() EDIT: Oh, and the contest holder would need to make a proper thread with the rules, prizes, catogeries and entries (so far), all nicely formatted and readable. |

Organisers and participants are not the same type of people, and it would be unfair to both if you only allow them to do the other's job. 1jka8sdgh4jk8AS4GDA7KJgjhg <--- people at university being st00pid There need to be less contests, yes, but I also think that they should be more original. For example a contest asks someone to make an original level, wouldn't people just do that anyway when they make levels to upload on JCF? (The rating would tell them how well they have done, don't need a judge or no). Without a prize it has no pulling power, and without originality there really wouldn't be any sort of fun factor. Do something different that people tend to not do as default is great. Another thing I find very important is to actually limit the entry in some way. If you make a contest where you ask people to make a 3000 tile tileset (dumb example but hey) then nobody in the world would enter it because it would take too much of their time, people are lazy.

Like I (also in #jj2) said, the "winner may host next contest" may or may not be a good idea. The main point I was trying to make was that the contest could use some moderation, and indeed the "make original level!!1"-contest aren't attracting much participants for the very reason you mentioned - you always try to be original. That's why I'd like more specific guidelines and rules: it makes a contest more interesting.
(Original is a quite abstract and relative word too - A level full of rocket turtles would surely be original but I bet it wouldn't win an originality contest) |
