Hello!
I'm new here, and i've got a problem. I've got that 'connection timed out-thing' too, but i don't know how to open that ports... I know it's a stupid question, but I can't ask anybody else! Grtz, Munyen Last edited by Munyen; Nov 20, 2005 at 06:06 AM. |

Alcatel Speedtouch gives a lot of people trouble, and no one has found a complete solution for it yet. I'm almost sure there is one though.
Edit: What model specifically? Edit #2: I found this site which could be the final answer to the Alcatel Speedtouch problem many have been having. Either that or the answer is bridging (which is more complicated but can be done). If you follow the link and follow what it says, I highly suggest running another firewall in the background.

On second thought, I've gotten a little ahead of myself. After visiting a few other sites (this one in particular), I not sure the link I gave above would be of any help anyway. And the hacks from the petri.co.il site may be too advanced for you.
Based on what you said, you either have this or most likely this. You may want to read more about gateways here. This FAQ may also be of use. If you don't have a user guide on hand, you may want to use this pdf file. It helps if you already know how to access the web interface. I could've arranged what I wrote above into something more straightforward, but it would be better if I knew what you knew first.

To be honest, I can't remember the exact problem that Alcatel Speedtouch users on this forum typically have. That is, if they can't join servers for long or if they have hosting problems as well. If you only have problems with joining, then I guess it could have something to do with the ephemeral ports JJ2 uses to connect to games. You could try opening ports 1024 through 4999 if possible and see if that helps.

According to some people at this forum, if I understand correctly, the problem is with NAT not the firewall. I'm somewhat confused myself, mostly because I don't know for sure what you're seeing.
