I'm being killed with popups at the moment...

I keep getting the same annoying popup every two minutes.

http://www.eajmp.com/sw/5323/CD1331/ETdp=31295
This is the link, showed in the top bar of the popup.
I've already set the security levels of firefox and IE to the highest levels, but the (-)ing popup still finds it's way in. I've already discovered the cookie that's associated with it, but it just keeps reappearing. Now I've set Firefox not to accept any cookie at all, but the popup still appears.
I want to know if anybody has some tips/hints or maybe even the solution to this problem.

Do you have an effective Spysweeper like SpyBot S&D and AD-Aware? Chances are that even though the cookie is gone, register key still exists which is a lot harder to find. Any spysweeper should take care of that. Both can be downloaded off of CNet Downloads.

I've got AD- Aware, and indeed found a registry key. However, the popup still appears. I think that the problems have to do with the firewall in the ADSL modem. I can't acces the modem though...

Get Spybot S&D too. There are some pests Ad-Aware can't detect, but Spybot can. In fact, I'd advise to have at least two Spysweepers installed as they only add to the thoroughness of the cleaning. Same goes with virusses: two virusscanner. Try scanning for them as well.

Get Spybot-SD and Ad-Aware, as well as current definition files. Reboot your computer into safe mode, and then install and run scans with both in safe mode.

Oh, and installing two or more virus scanners is a bad bad idea, as they intefere with each other in various strange and decidely nasty ways. Same goes with firewalls.

Another good spyware program is Ewido. It often finds more than Spybot and Ad-aware.

I've noticed that Spybot is a bit agressive when it comes to finding and deleting spyware. I deleted some part of the search function in the start menu and had to recover it.
The popups also seem only to appear when I click a link on a website. So there must be a program hidden somewhere in my system...

Double-post.
Anyway, I somehow stopped the popup from appearing by deleting some weird file in the history...
I want to thank you all for the tips, I needed them.

Never, EVER EVER run two virus scanners at the same time...
spyware scanners is okay, but NEVER 2 virus scanners... they play havoc with each other's quarantined files, etc.

Hitman pro 2.. All kind of anti spyware programs, like Spybot search & Destroy and Ad aware in one program. I cant find any better English version.
For the Dutch people:

http://www.hitmanpro.nl/welcome.htm

This will do, I think.. Tip:
NEVER, EVER try something while hitman pro is running, espescially not the first time.. you'll easily get errors then, and you will see why when the program itself is running..

I'll try that one out, then.
I could use an all-purpose defender. 4 anti spyware programs are realy too much...

BTW, what is exactly the hidden folder "amdws nt"? I had a virus there and I believe that folder is the boot or something else very important.

Ugh, read before you post! And ESPECIALLY when you try to revive a thread!
