you can put jazz's animations in the place of devan's and you battle a jazz clone

You can also do that by using MCEs.

So, I forget, did the program ever gain the capability to change the number of frames in an animation and edit sounds?

Whenever I try it just comes up with:
File found with size 1019904 File has the same size as Jazz2 v1.24 But is either corrupted or not a Jazz2 binary |

What? No, that was that other guy. Purplejazz has the full version as far as I know.

This stupid thing is going to ruin my idea of making jazz into a third person shooter (lol most ppl say it can't be done but if you spend long enough drawing it all out, it may be quite possible)!!!

![]() Something that views sprites, edits them, exports them, and can change various features such as dimensions, gunspot, hotspot can only be done better with something that edits the ammount of frames the sprites have. That's one feature we don't have. In fact, using your logic, JJ2 is stupid because it lost the bonus stages. That is not sound logic at all. Quote:

The definition of functionality is "A set of attributes that bear on the existence of a set of functions and their specified properties. The functions are those that satisfy stated or implied needs."
The ability to edit the ammount of frames is neither stated nor implied by Neobeo, or JSD, thus JSD does not lose functionality in the slightest. EDIT- By the way, excerpt from #JJ2: ![]() Last edited by n00b; Sep 15, 2006 at 03:47 PM. |

...umm... if I need to be able to edit the number of frames, either stated or implied, and that function is not available, I rather think that constitutes impaired functionality... oh, never mind. Not worth arguing about.

... and not going to happen anyway, unless someone suddenly decides to release a new version of JSD.

Seriously though, a new version is in planning stage, but with less free time on my hands than usual, it may be a long time before this sees the light of day. Also, I still haven't quite figured out how sounds work in the J2A, so the new version probably still won't come with a sound editor. This could probably be added in a later stage as an add-on to JSD or something, probably with the help of IceMAN or Dr Eggman or anyone who has more experience with sounds.

Well, unfortunately neither the width nor height is stored in the J2A (if I recall correctly) so you'll have to calculate it yourself from the umm... bytecodes.

What are your ideas ? Don't forget this tool "just" replace values. So adding more or less frames is perhaps possible, but would not be good. However adding more functions ( undo options and layers perhaps ? ) would be nice. |
