I might make an open source list server program and give it to everyone.

A small reminder - this is a hacking reports topic. Non-constructive chit-chat should be placed in other threads.

We would also have to keep a list updated of all the servers, as then you have the problem of servers popping up or going down. Two servers, as previously discussed, provides enough service for the game. Besides, what good would the program be useful for? It is not ment for casual use. |

Honestly, I'm shocked that you haven't heard of NeoAC yet. And I'm not blocked on the list servers, because nobody cares. Anyways, I'm currently writing a list server in mircscript. Unlike my first attempt this one will support binary listings and not just redirect. It'll be releasified when I get most of the stuff working. Listing abilities will come first and binary list generation will come last.

What I meant was nobody was willing to help me, but only willing to critisize my work. It wasn't constuctive critisism either, it was "Your work is useless". Well, at least I tried to help, but nooooo, everybody didn't WANT to help me help others, they just wanted to say my work was crap. That isn't ok. I was trying to help and I was getting a lot of crap for it, which is sad, as if I had gotten some help, things might of turned out differently, but no, now I'm not very liked and people keep going on about PE when it's like, let's see, uhhhh, about 3 months ago? Yeah, that's right. 3 months. You might ask then why am I discussing it, and the reason is that I'm still fustrated that when someone tries to help they're looked down upon, and I think it's wrong. Heck, I would of still been willing to help the community, but PE has shown me that I'll just get a (-)load of crap for it.

Shadowrabbit, we have gone through these points before. PE was useless, and NooB's quote were the main reasons why. I will ignore these because it has been well discussed.
I think the main problem is that you were continuing to try and whip up support for an idea that was already deemed useless by the rest of the community, and that resulted on you getting picked on. If you had "Dropped" the subject, the thread would have faded into obscurity, and no one would have picked on you anymore. The reaction you recieved was not the community's. It was human behaviour. Picking on somthing seems to be a characteristic of all the animals and humans on this planet. The main reason being they like the reaction they get. Believe me. I know ALL about being picked on (and NOT on the internet) ![]() My suggestion would be to ignore the pickings, as all it does is hurt you mentally, and it should end in a little bit. The main reason you are continually being picked on is you keep bringing the subject up, and that starts it all over again. So please, stop bringing it up (It's called "Swallowing your Pride") |

EDIT- It's also hard to give constructive critisicm to something like PE without completely revamping it. No one wants a middleman in reporting, and thats what PE seemed to only do. |

This issue really is something that should be dropped because discussing it just clutters up the forum.
(not saying in my admin capacity)

Before the discussion is over, I just want to put in my 2cents.
Firstly, unless you (ShadowRabbit) are a listserver admin, or at least know how to code programs that can help prevent attacks, I really don't see how you and PE could've helped. From what I've seen (and heard) all you could've done really is get a list of people crashing servers and such (with proof, of course) and just show the list to Nimrod or another listserver admin. That's pretty useless when someone could just do it themselves as it's faster, instead of passing it onto someone who in turn passes it on to Nimrod/staff. It's basically like you wanting to tell someone to move, and instead telling their friend or someone right next to them to pass on the message to them instead of just asking them directly, or something. I know you tried to help (as you seem to mention this quite often), but really, I don't see anything you could've done to aside from just reporting the crashers yourself, which is basically what we do now. I've probably wrote this in vain as my message is shared and previously mentioned by other people, but I just wanted to get that off my chest. Also, my comparisons suck. That's pretty much it I guess.

Don't ppl Ever give up...
This person called me an idiot. And then he said i'd be a bigger idiot if i kicked him off. So naturally (just to be funny), I kicked him off. So he tried to crash me and here's the evidence.
http://rapidshare.de/files/23519855/...eport.bmp.html Now I kind of find this funny that people would even continue try to crash servers. After NEOAC came out, it's not easy to crash servers. and it's getting annoying having to alway upload all these files... ![]()

I almost died from laughter when I saw that post. Believe it or not, but it was me who called you an idiot, under a fake alias. I just went to another server, I didn't try to crash you and that IP isn't even mine. Now show the rest of the log, and YOU'll be the one who gets banned, (PA)
[Personal attack edit. On an additional note, crashing treats do not get you banned - FQuist] [Not when the person himself admits that he crashes, like in Jerry's case -me] Last edited by R3ptile; Jun 20, 2006 at 05:17 AM. |

Actually, crashing is crashing. And yes, threats aren't a reason to ban ppl like FQuist said. But this was no threat! You actually friggin tried to crash me. So yes this could possibly get you banned. Also, I wish I did have a copy of the unblocked pic, but sadly i don't and if you have a way of getting it back, lemme know and i'll post it as a THREAD on JCF and ppl can see how you threatened, then crashed.
(or attempted to anyway)

it isnt mine either
![]() who knows if that was a crashing attempt? the only way to really find out who it may be, is by making NeoAC log IPs with the nicknames used to join servers. That would help a lot. a WHOLE lot.

It's been asked enough now. Everyone who replies to this topic with a reply that does not contain anything useful (that is especially to Jerry, who knows what was in the deleted reply) gets a full warning. That includes fake hacking reports.
