LMAT (August ][)

None of you saw this coming did you?

  • Adding tiles from the previous LMAT editions is not allowed.
  • There are no official color restrictions. You may draw in 8-bit, 16-bit, or however you want.
  • When updating the tileset, you may also edit existing tiles - this includes changing the colors, making them bigger, fixing small bugs, changing the shading, etc.
  • If you're working on something big and request people to not make additions until you're done (they won't be accepted if they will be of really low quality), you have two days to finish your addition. Else, people will be able to add tiles again.
  • If you have already successfully contibuted to the tileset, and think that some of the tiles should be deleted from the main tileset image, you may initiate a vote for removal of those tiles. You have to precisely indicate that you're initiating a vote, and which tiles (or sections of tiles) you want removed. The voting period is two days long, and a 75% (3/4) majority of YES votes is required for the desired tiles to be removed.
    • You may not initiate a vote for another two days after the previous voting period.
    • If an addition is vastly below the whole tileset's quality standard, it may be removed without the voting process.
    • You may delete your own tiles at will, unless they're heavily integrated with the rest of the set.
    • The vote's outcome isn't acceptable if no one has voted.
  • Do not include a Palette tile.
  • Please refrain from posting textured backgrounds until we have an idea of what the tileset is like.
  • If you really do not want some of your tiles to be edited, for whatever reason, specify this clearly, but keep in mind that people might then not use your tiles at all.
  • Logical content rules apply. Do not use the tileset to contain attacks against other people, pornographic or oherwise illegal images, links to illegal web-sites, or stuff like that. Use your common sense.
  • Enjoy, and don't be afraid to ask questions!

These tiles go together to form this animation:

I didn't have much to work with. It doesn't need to be the primary ground, but it does fit with the color scheme and general feel of the elevator. Could someone else expand it, with corners and T-junctions and thicker ground and such? I'm getting lazy.
EDIT: Also, how would that elevator thing work if you wanted it to span multiple tiles? Wouldn't it jump a tad bit when the platform goes off the tile?

I just made a version of Birdie's things that waste a lot less tile space. I'll wait till Stijin posts his version then I'll just intigrate mine to it, okay?

Alright. Bam. This turned out to be a larger change then I thought it would be at first.

+ Corners
+ Four-way junctions
Now all non-end and non-block tiles have varieties both with lines down the middle and without. Use the lines as eyecandy.
Now also there aren't any unneeded repeat tiles.

Sorry for the double post, but I just noticed some of my shading was done horribly wrong. I'm fixing that right now.

EDIT- Done.

Now the shading is no longer screwy. As an added bonus, there are now wrecked-up tiles as a bit more ground-based eyecandy!

While I am not going to actually add something to the tileset, I say someone should:

- add wrecked versions of the other tiles (c'mon, it'd come in SO HANDY)

- add darker background versions (wrecked ones, too)

One last update for today...

Could someone tack this onto the tileset? It's more damaged blocks and also scaffolding-ish stuff for cave background and eyecandy and stuff. Someone else can do the damaged other tiles. Or I can do them tomorrow or something.

This is a test:

Which comes from this.

They are supposed to be ground tiles that go on top of the blue blocks or whatnot. I plan on making additions if people like these tiles. If this gets used, I insist the animating tiles be kept aligned in one column for ease of use.

And destruct blocks. And sucker tubes. And signs. And non-ground eyecandy. And warps. And poles. And water blocks, maybe. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting other things also.

I made those background blocks someone requested a while ago. Also, I made warps things.

The upper animation is the warp thing. It's meant to be a collumn, and the animation is meant to be set to ping-pong. Make it transparent too.
The lower animation is ends of the collumn. Put it at the bottoms and tops of warp energy collumn things.

Excuse the crappy shading, I'm not as good with animation.

EDIT: After Rad complained that the warp collumn wasn't warp-like enough, I made a change. Use this instead. Also, the independant sparklies are one animation, I just had to break them up into two places.

Yes, they will be helpful. Could someone arrange them better so they aren't all over the place? I'm tired at the moment, and I think the tileset's organization could use a little work, though Zaps did improve it some.

The darker versions were meant to be unmasked versions, I thought. Unmasked elevator tiles would be... pointless at best.
