Here we go, yet another Duel Tournament. It's built up by gathering 32 players, and put into 4 brackets, 8 players in each, similarly to the DIT. Each week a round will begin, where the matches will be announced, saying who duels whom in that group. they don't have to. Duels can either be Battle or CTF. For this stage there is no mappool, so players can pick any level they like, as long as both players agree. For every win of a Duel, a player scores 1 point. Duels are played in the best of 3, the player to win 2 matches gets the point.
The 3 players with the highest amount of points in each bracket after 8 rounds will move on to the knock-out stage. This stage will be restricted to CTF, with a mappool, and will be a ladder, which if you lose a duel in levels 1/2 you get eliminated. The ladder is composed of 4 parts. To start with, all 12 qualified players start at level 1. They choose who they will duel there, and they play to the best of 3 games. The winning 6 players move onto level 2, where it is decided by me who plays who, depending on their skill level. The 3 winners then move onto level 3, where they duel against each other. If one player wins both matches, then they are winner of the Tournament, and then the losing players in level 3 duel each other again, to decide 2nd/3rd places. If two players win their games in level 3, then they move up to level 4, where the winning player wins the Tournament, the losing player gets 2nd place, and the losing player from level 3 gets 3rd place. Here is the mappool for the Knock-out stage:
You can sign up for the tourney by posting your MSN in this thread, or via MSN to me at billy_the_big@hotmail.com. There will be a website to follow this soon. So have fun and good luck! P.S. I know about the DIT, I don't want to interupt it, but since it's almost finished I thought it wouldn't hurt. :P 20 Slots remaining

That post got me quite confused on a quick look. For first, I'd like to say forbidding "home-made" levels is quite a questionable rule. That would mean players are allowed only to play in Epic's levels, as everything else, even the popular levels
are home-made. Although I know what you were trying to mean with this, I still think such a rule would be useless, because players should both agree on the suggested level unless the choice is made by another in rounds of 3. So it would be quite unlikely for any opponent to agree playing in a "crap-level." Now for second, the really confusing part is the "knock-out stage." I got the feeling this is something like an elimination-tree, with a dash of ladder-stage. That meaning you can duel anyone you like as the only match for your level on the same group(level in this case), yet losing any match knocks you out of the whole tournament. Also I suppose *they* is just a typo, when talking about the tournament-winner in level 3. As well, if there's silver and bronze, the remaining players of level 3/loser level 4 should duel each other once again, right? P.S. Give out estimated tournament starting/ending-dates, and I'll respond asap whether I'm in or not.

Heh, you make much more sense than I do. :P
EDIT: I've decided to make this a duel-only tournament, as having both duels and Teamgames is rather strange, and would become very confusing and pointlessly complicated, and just... probably won't work out well. Could an admin please edit the threat title to "JJ2 Duel Tournament"? Last edited by PurpleJazz; Jun 17, 2007 at 08:35 AM. |

Can you give any suggestions? Since the tourney hasn't started yet, it would be fine to add to the knock-out stage mappool.

Ok, fixed my connection, so I'll take part in this with pleasure.
The new screen and keyboard feel weird though, matters not. |
