OK, I'm making a new race, with multiple routes and stuff, it's really not as complex as it sounds (oh hell yeah it is). It's gonna be one for the books. Once that's done, I'll start with another CTF or two, which are to be probably following a similar concept to my latest CTF (following the trend of jazz bias and fastfires and stuff). This one might be a little more... able to duel in (or probably bigger games). Yeah. =] (I hope it worked) |

I've been working on a sinlge player pack. I've got 1 more lvl to finish, then I'll need to find some beta-testers. Here's a screenshot of lvl 1
![]() Basic Plot: Jazz has to leave his program and travel through the internet to fight a computer virus that could destroy the world as we know it.

I hope this isn't giving away too much of the plot or hogging the thread or anything, but here are a couple more screenshots I finally got around to uploading.
![]() I just thought Spaz's expression in the end show would be fun for a spooky kind of tileset. ![]() This last one is probably my favorite part of the pack so far. I made my own new boss with a working health bar and boss music and everything, without using any enemy events.

Although I've seen the "Jazz escapes JJ2 and must explore a computer" plot many times, this looks awesome. Can't wait for it to be finished, Troglobite.
(I'd betatest but I'm hard at work doing backgrounds for a Dev Art collab) |

Wow, really? Many times? Can you show a few examples perhaps?

At the beginning of level 7, I wasn't able to move further than pos 2,5. I had to JJFLY my way down.
|
Oct 17, 2008, 04:30 AM | |
I intentionally didn't include goodies or ammo, in order to make the levels a bit more challenging. If it ended up just lowering the quality of the pack overall, I'm sorry.
I've used both Jazz and Spaz on level seven, and couldn't get stuck at 2,5. Do you have any idea as to why you might have gotten stuck, so I can try and fix it?

Hmmm... I just tried the level again. I tried starting in Captain Cook at LV7 and I got through 2,5.
However, if I start from LV1 and get to LV7 I seem to get stuck in the same position. I don't think it's anything to do with the level itself but I'm not sure what could cause that? Some flaw in Captain Cook? I'll try it from the Home Cooked Levels list. EDIT: Just attempted it from the HCL list and it works fine, so it must be a bug with Captain Cook. |
Oct 17, 2008, 07:56 AM | |
I believe level 6 ends with a end warp, right? Jazz will then "Warp into" the next level. Jazz will get stuck in waited suckertube events if he is in the "Warp fall" mode.
Don't worry, that's a common mistake for cutscene beginners. The main way to fix it is have jazz sucked along some masked "Acc R" or "Acc L" events. |
Oct 17, 2008, 06:09 PM | |
thanks a lot, puffie. I'll fix that.

Also, another level I was working on just popped up. Heavily outdated as it was, I scrapped a large part of the original (lame) layout, fixed it up a bit and made a Domination level out of it. Here it is, enjoy.

Do it! Do it NOW!!! lol
Remember that post I made a long time ago, that said I was making Christmas levels a bit early, and said I was making a small pack of 3 CTF levels? Well, here is a screenshot of the third one out of three. ![]() About the pack: The level pack will consist of 3 CTF levels (as stated already), and they each have their own style of layout and music. The pack will feature these levels (the first two have the names already announced, as I posted a screenshot of the second one about 2 months ago and I hosted the first one in July): 1) Christmas Blizzards (100%) |||||||||| 2) Silent Night, Unholy Night (76%, needs ammo and more eyecandy, layout is now finished) |||||||||| 3) Chrisco Chaos (80%, needs more eyecandy and ammo, layout is already done) |||||||||| The levels will (hopefully) be released on the 15th of November, as with the two levels I released last year. This minipack will be called the Christmas Fun Pack, btw. I sure hope it will live up to its name!

that's an interesting concept. I wonder why noone has tried this so far. I mean, when i browse through CTF levels, they're all the same. Always easter.it in castle1.j2t. Finally someone's in for a change. I expect a leveldesign as meandering and variable as Dragonforce's riffing!

Hey, welcome to the forums!
For more information on how to make good tilesets and what tools to use, be sure to check out Disguise's Tileset Resource. I'd like to comment on your website but I don't know Magyar ![]() |

Links to websites that distribute the games (particularly JJ3) are forbidden, right? Also that site hotlinks to lots of J2O images.
