Results JCS Awards 2008
Here they are, the results of the JCS Awards 2008. I think 2008 was quite a good year for level making, we saw a great variety of levels in all kinds of gamemodes. There were also more packs, both SP and MP, uploaded this year compared to 2007, which is definitely a good thing. Let's hope 2009 will be just as good (or maybe even better) as this year.
So, congratulations to the winners and nominees and thanks to my partner for this election, FireSworD. There were some ties and one shared win. The results: 2008's best JCS'er: Winner: Ragnarok DarkSonic Snooze 2008's best CTF level: Winner: "Starlit Summit" by Ragnarok "Earth" by Vivando "Northscar Needle" by Snooze "Undulation" by Ragnarok 2008's best Battle level: Winner: "Enter the Chaos" by FireSworD "Condemned" by PurpleJazz 5 other levels with all 1 vote 2008's best (non CTF/Battle) level: Winner: "Pearl-Shell Shore" (DOM) by Quickz "Lost Luggage Landfill" (Race) by Ragnarok "Birdie Always Wins" (Flag Run) by Birdie 2008's best MP Pack: Winner: "Find It Out" by Vivando "Codename: Alliance" by Xtreme Level Makers "Err.. Congratulations Raggot, this was well deserved. (h5) And welcome to the land of Big Names, Troglobite. Hope to see more of you this year!

Wow, I really didn't expect to win best battle. I guess creativity/originality really does get you far. Anyway, congrats to PJ for his level condemned getting 2nd place (and nearly winning). Anyone who'd rather play a more 'trustworthy' battle level should try playing that instead.
Also, grats to all the other winners. Last year was quite good, you should all be proud. Lastly, I encourage you all to play the levels, use the sets, and make more awesome levels for the next jcs awards. |

Congratulations to all. I hope to see even more and even better submissions in 2009!

Well, I'm pretty satisfied with the results.. except that CrysilisV should have won >: (
I expected Tomb Rabbit 2 to win the best SP pack though. Otherwise, good results and congratulations to the winners! And for the people that didn't win anything, try harder next year! |

Suggestion for next year: delete your voting posts immediately after they're posted. Then have a moderator un-delete them when the results are up.
Suspense!

Wow. Nice choices! But I wanna know just one thing...
Why did Rag make nearly EVERY category as either the winner or a finalist?! I guess it doesn't really matter. :P But I DID think xSnooze should've won the "best" JCS'er award, but I didn't get here fast enough. Boo hoo.

Rag is awesome. He tags everything as awesome, that's why he is awesome. Awesome right?

Congradulations everyone. I'm surprised I won, since there was such strong competition, and none of my upload's even qualified for the little savepoint icon. In fact, a featured review of HAVGSTW gave it a 4 of 10. I can't wait to see all the cool levels 2009 will bring.

Because unlike almost everyone else, he cares about the gameplay and about how fun the level will be. Lousy, transparent depth like in Codename: Alliance has no place in his levels.

sorry, but this makes no sense at all why Ragnarok made those good levels and are listed in a lot of awards.

Although I have to agree that we rushed the pack a bit, there are some levels that do focus on gameplay. Levels like City of the Sn00zE and Condemned don't only have good eye candy, but are also fun to play. That said, I think that Starlit Summit is pretty overrated (while still being a good level) but levels like LLL are awesome. |

Me haven't voted or checked (most of) the levels. But I do know Mike's SP episode and the shared tileset positions are totally deserved!

A good one, Cooba Should've listened to level makers and made a easier to use tileset >_<
Anyway, huge thanks to Jazz2Online community. I wouldn't make tilesets for any other game.

I'd say Blade sets, just like EM's SP eps are too exemplary to be nominees, since they should always win. Otherwise, the right guy stole the cake.
|

But then the wrong guy would steal the cake. That would be unacceptable.
There's actually a good chance I won't win the SP award next year. A lot of good projects are being made, some far more ambitious than what I'm making (e.g. Devil Dash). My ep5 will probably be the best out of all the ones in the series, but it's looking like there is going to be some pretty heavy competition in 2009. That of course is assuming that people are actually going to finish things this year. |

Even if I don't know most of these levels congratulations to all winners.
