I was reading about and saw an old Jazz fangame named Razz arena, but the website is down and there are no dl links. Naybody have this kickin around somewhere to upload or someone know of an upload?

I believe I have an a version of it on some old computer lying around here, maybe I'll get around to uploading it. :P

I only have an .exe file I think is a console program for this game but dunno..
the other sites that contain the game are down.

Can't help you right now unfortunately, I have it on my other computer. I used to work on music and weapon designs for it (and none made it into the game, yay).

I've got a modified version of it. All I did was add my own Tubelectric map and remove the swearing :\ I'll try to upload it to Megaupload.

The more important question is, does anyone have the original source for Razz Arena? I've got this file called "Razz129.rar" in a folder called "Razz Arena Source", but it's 0kb.

It could just be your computer, as I was able to run it fine when I ran it off my old hard drive. Any details on the crash? I'd feel sad if you couldn't play it

I dunno, it might just be your computer. Razz Arena is basically Quake 3 arena, so you might try installing the Quake 3 demo and seeing if that crashes as well. But before that I'd suggest downloading it again. Is anyone else having this problem? I'll re-up it if the files got corrupted.

It seems not workin' I get that console window and then just stop workin' and close the app.

"couldn't execute autoexec.cfg" (which wasn't in your zip)

then it pops open that fun Visual Studio Just in Time debugger and the screen goes grey, you chose whatever you want, and Razz crashes"

Yeah, it would be like Jazz 3 multiplayer...but more functional

After searching both hard drives I've finally found the old Razz Arena installer and have uploaded it for the masses. Be forewarned, there's profanity for whatever reason :/ If that's enough of a problem I can easily upload a mod to remove/replace it.

Yeah. However, nobody's ever online. It's amazing though, that it's in 3D and all. now I'm thinking jj3 would make a great FPS.

Yeah. I like the graphical style of Razz Arena as it almost dirrectly corrolates to JJ2, but i like the Multiplayer in JJ3 better, especially the new treasure system.

JJ3's multiplayer would have been amazing if they'd ever gotten it to work right. However, my understanding is that the main thing causing it to not work is the lack of listserver (I may be wrong and would be happy to be corrected).

Razz Arena was great - is it officially dead?

thats correct, i am no longer running a listserver. someone can try to run a quake3 list server (there is free software available on the web), the only thing you need to *fix* is the domain name of the listserver. i think i edited the razz arena executable with an hex editor to let it connect to master.razzarena.da.ru (can't remember).

if someone is up to it, i will gladly help to get things running again!

the master server is located at master.razzarena.da.ru
i can still access my .da.ru account so i could set master. to any ip address.

there is a master server tool called q3mass (can't find a download link).
also i remember an python application myself that also worked... maybe i can find it :P

Fix it!

Give me a Dedicated Server so I can host the server list and I will fix it.

*bump* due to high interest levels in this game and the desire for it to be played further.

I played Razz Arena, and it is cool. Like Quake III Arena, what I've played online 3 years ago (and I liked a lot, but reinstalled computer and didn't know where is CD and where to download... can someone give me a link?), and if someone come to play this online if it is possible, it'd be nice I like it.

If someone gives me a server and domain to host the list server for it i gladly update the source. All it needs is a master server to run.(and maybe someone host a dedi server?)

Even if its good its basically like a quake mod.

Judging by the United States Federal government's seizure and subsequent nuking of Megaupload.com, I would say that attempting to procure Razz Arena at the provided link (and possibly even procuring it at all) might be the reason why this thread is dead in the first place.

... Dude, I doubt anything like that will happen again. Besides, Razz Arena is/was Freeware(As far as I can tell, anyway), so there's no harm in uploading it anywhere.
