JJ2 version you mostly use.
Well, the forums have been kinda dead lately, so it's time for me to make more pointless polls! Yaaay! Lol just kidding but really, this place is too quiet at the moment. So the poll is, what version of JJ2 do you mostly use? If you only have one version of JJ2 then just vote for that option, no complications. Online or offline player you are, doesn't matter, every jj2 fan is included for this one.
So, I mostly use TSF. Why? Well, you have access to more servers, tilesets, levels and Lori. Hosting on TSF is very stable for me, it rarely crashes (my connection isn't that stable though, but that's another story). There's also a program I use that only works with 1.24. But I know some people who host in TSF have frequent crashes, I guess some computers just don't like 1.24. I do have 1.23 too, but I rarely use it. By the way, this is coming from someone who isn't really a huge fan of hotels. I don't belive using any version of JJ2 makes you any better than someone else who uses a different version. It depends on what you do to spend your time on JJ2 and how often you play. By the way, if you have version(s) 1.20, 1.21 or 1.22, you can upgrade it to 1.23 which fixes some bugs and enables online play...you really should if you havent yet. (I'll put a link if necessary). |

1.24
I put all the level packs I download into JJ2 TSF folder for convenience, so that when I want to play one of them I just have to run TSF regardless of the JJ2 version the level pack was made for.

I was 'forced' to use 1.24 for online play because of level/tileset support. My original intention was to stick with 1.23 since not everyone wants to switch to 1.24 for several reasons. At least Blur fixed up Lori in 1.24 yay.

I didn't know that 1.23 and 1.24 users were that balanced between each other. But the majority of people who voted for 1.23 aren't that active online anymore (or in Obi's case only plays offline), so it seemed to me that many more used TSF these days. But if I made this poll a few years ago, most probably would've voted for 1.23 because plus used to be only compatible with that version. And before plus ever existed, well...not sure about that exactly.

I had the same problem. Running Jazz2 with
Code:
schedtool -a 0x1 -e wine '/path/to/Jazz2+.exe'

Well, the case for a server being 1.24 only will most likely be a test, a hotel or a server full of annoying Polish kids. Or both (a test server with annoying people is what I mean is possible, but sometimes it's alright). If you don't mind the loss of those, you'll do fine. But I gotta admit I do like to play tests every now and then. You should be able to play on most servers I think (I don't know exactly, I hardly play with 1.23 so I'm somewhat assuming the case here, but sometimes I do check the serverlist with 1.23 so I'm not completely making it up).

1.23+, simply because I do not own TSF.
I see that lots of people are choosing TSF over 1.23 because of tileset limits. Is there nothing JJ2+ can do about that? (Sorry if this has been asked a million times already). |

It seems that people tend to use TSF for playing online. I could understand why people levelmake in 1.23, it saves the time messing around to convert it. I find it more convenient to try new levels in TSF though, considering most levels work fine with that version. Decent TSF only levels do pop up every now and then. Like what I said before, I can understand partly why some people host in 1.23.

For the most part, 1.23+.
There are times when I use CC and 1.22 for various things, and once in a while I'll use TSF (mostly when I need to make sure something is possible as Lori, though I still hate her oh so much). |

1.23 simply for compatibility with 1.24 and of course of JJ2+

JJ2+ for playing, and TSF for level creating...(somewhy the save and run don't works at me in JJ2+ JCS)
|

Try changing the JJ2+ executable name from Jazz2+.exe or whatever it is to Jazz2.exe. If you still have a non-plus copy, you may have to rename that to Jazz2Classic.exe or something just to make sure it doesn't get overwritten.

Technically superior. Also been trying to add JJM to it but I'm having some trouble with it.
