Ebay Interestsingness
So I'm browsing Ebay and decide to look up what kind of JJ stuff they got. First up, I found this kind of interesting. A Jazz Jackrabbit mouse pad. It ships from Hong Kong (ha :P). Anybody know who the artist is?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EMP0001-Blac...item1c2ff0dc47 Next, I found this JJ2 t-shirt. Something is really wrong here. Look at the size of the neck hole :P. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jazz-Jackrab...item23168df3e3 ![]() And finally... A Jazz Jackrabbit Advance bootleg... Promoted as some rare gem of a game. I'm pretty sure it is a bootleg. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jazz-JackRab...item3f05196f2e But yeah, just thought I'd share. |

The mousepad, I have never seen that before. Nice one..
The Tshirt reminds me of the one that you could order on JazzJackrabbit.com back in the 90's But that JJ GBA edition, that isn't so rare.. it's surely not a bootleg as since I have the exact same cardridge that I've bought for 3 euros in a shop, so it's rather overpriced on Ebay :P

Ah! Yeah, I've never seen the European cartridge art before. The plastic also seemed to look a little off-color, but that could be the camera.
I wonder if JJA will ever be a valuable collector's item ![]() |

I've never seen the mousepad before, not even the artwork that's on it.. It looks more Nick than Noogy, but I believe it's just a printed fanart or something.
The T-shirt has indeed the same art as used on the original JJ2 shirt from Epic. I wonder if it's actually one from last century.. As for the cartridge, it looks legit to me.The plastic is fine, and the art is standard for all EU copies. Mine's on this photo btw: http://www.jazz2online.com/pictures/...w-shirt-owner/

Nice collection, Slaz! I was reminded of the old Jazz Jackrabbit plush figures, so I decided to check out the online store that was selling them. It seems they went under! That's unfortunate.
I don't feel too bad for not buying one when they were available, though. They were kind of malformed, lol. On the subject of bootlegs, I know this listing is bogus, for sure http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jazz-Jackrab...item2ebe8ae773 JJ1 (Shareware), JJ2 (Shareware), TSF (Shareware), and JJ3 beta (Brand new & sealed) Uhm... Yeah. |

Also on the subject of bootlegs, I remember a listing named 'Jazz Jackrabbit 3' that had a package shot, stating that name right on the case. If I recall, Newspaz bought it out of curiosity. I think he said it was just a poorly rebranded JJ2 Christmas Chronicles. ![]()

btw, I found the artwork that's on the mousepad, so it's definitely a custom made print and nothing official.

I find it amusing that the person who did the fanart of Jazz actually thought the remains of Spaz's fingers is actually part of Jazzes design. Look at the red on his shoulder. Knowing China and copyright theft, they probably bootlegged the picture.

I found the original source
http://sonikkuxklonoa.deviantart.com...bbit-198041551 Yep, looks like the original artist actually mistook spaz's hand for a shoulder pad :P. |

Apparently, a Floppy Disk copy of JJ1 is for sale.
I'm not sure how many episodes are included, but look at the copyright notice in the second, third, or fifth pictures -- 1993. Weird. Even weirder is the fact that the screenshots are from the beta! And the fact that it says "Actual screens" below these screenshots. (Could this be the holy grail of JJ1 history -- a beta copy? Probably not, but still a fun thought) Also now on eBay is an Ad Page for JJ2(With screenshots. Not sure if any of them are beta ones), and a ridiculously expensive copy of JJ1 CD. Yeah, I know, necro post, but beta screenshots! ![]() |

...you know, that's a good question. I do have that CD case, but there's been a sticker over that particular screenshot for the last couple decades, and I don't think it's coming off. The mode 7 part at least is from BONUSY.000.
As for that floppy... the 1993 date is weird, but maybe it's referring to some sort of wrapper software the WIZ company put in (note that you apparently type WIZ, not JAZZ, to run it). Maybe there are other pictures out there of other WIZ games with the same copyright notice? |

Funnily enough, I own a copy of JJ1 with the very same CD case as that eBay listing, so I've taken a look at mine, and IMO, it looks like a weird contrast/colourisation error(I would take a picture of mine, but all I have to take the picture with would be a PS3 Eye camera, which takes pictures at the size of Justin Bieber's talent in the resolution of a brick).
EDIT: As for the weird WIZ stuff, Violet, you're probably right. Still, an interesting curiosity. Perhaps it was an early demo distributed by WIZ(Whoever they are), since it's a floppy and most copies of JJ1 that were on floppy at the time required you to buy the extra episodes later. |
