You know, I may have to agree. No clue what Epic has in mind for JJ, but seems they want to rework his character. This is like, classic Jazz Jackrabbit.
I'm looking forward to this ![]() |

This was very nice idea. It's just too bad it died... actually it's on hold
![]() No, I'm not yet another kid which thinks that he can make brand new Jazz3d. I know what are my skills, and I am aware that I can't make whole game, I'm just yet another Delphi programmer and I want to play around with Jazz model (if available) in Delphi ![]() Last edited by Avram; Mar 19, 2007 at 07:49 AM. |

Right Guys...been a long time and I'm afraid I don't have good news.
I have just reloaded DarkBasicPro and went to start editing MIA and found that much of the code is outdated due to core updates in darkbasic. This would mean going through all the code trying to hunt down the thousands of new bugs. Frankly looking through the code I realize how far I have come in this project, I feel like I was a newbie at the beginning and the cracks in my coding are beginning to show. I feel at this point I would like to close this chapter and start afresh. I want to apologize to all of you as I did truly believe I would be able to finish this project. I understand that you may not wish me well after this and I accept that. Once again thank you for all the help you guys have given me over the years and I wish you all well. |

OH MY GOD. He's alive! Hello Baggers! No problem, do what you must!
*dies* |

You mean you start all over again again? Well, if it has to... Good to see you back tho.

Agreed. But I think its more like "Oohw yeah.. thnx, - bye" .. I think a lot of people want to build a fan game alone and wouldn't like to share! The Jazz 3d project was going very good ( my opinion ) and suddenly the project called MIA and it looks like the real jazz3 project is dead. I don't accuse Baggers for choosing it, but, again, there is nothing to continue. Its likely such a project ever complete if anyone tries to mind his own business.

At first I personally 'disagreed' with the idea of renaming the Jazz3D project to MIA but after some more reading about it MIA actually looked great. But I must agree with UR, my previous post was more a question than a conclusion.

Is this project still alive, or am I a bit late to the party?...

Wait, hold on, Baggers hasn't been on since... Okay... This project's dead. ![]() ![]() Hey, I've got an idea! Wait, no, no, it would never work. Besides, where would I find a chicken dancing on a beach in a swimsuit this time of year? Forget I said that, now I will mysteriously disappear! (Puff of smoke)... Agh, darn it. I've got to work on those mysterious disappearances. |

Well actually I just converted some Jazz Jackrabbit 3 maps from .unr map files to.t3d from Unreal Editor 1/Unreal Engine 1.In UE4 it just import in blank map just utility modifiers of ue1 editor icons nothing else in UDK imported .t3d map files have blank vertices aka map view just lots of wireframes not like lightmap viewports from ue1.

Holy hell, blast from the past. I'm bummed I never finished this. Hubris of youth and feature creep unfortunately. When I got to Uni I was basically advised to put this down to focus on studies.
I still have massive amounts of love for Jazz Jackrabbit, I would love to have time to dive back into this but that doesnt look likely right now. Big hugs to anyone who supported this, sorry about the result. |

T3D is format for BSP geometry they are so called BRUSHES and when you import T3D file into scene those will look as wireframe until you BUILD GEOMETRY (in UDK) |

Oh hey, look it's one of my first posts! I remember making that post and then realising "Oh crap, this thread is old!" And then hastily editing it to not make me look like an ass, only to realise hours later that it just made me look like even more of an ass than it would have if I'd just left it. XD
Anyway, nice to know that there's still a chance of this being worked on eventually. I remember being really excited about this back in my lurker days. Would be nice to have a Jazz fan project finished for a change (although, this trend seems to be changing since Louis K's JJ3DX was released, and Project Carrot seems to be coming along nicely, so who knows...). Any chances of OP releasing sources on github or whatever? With more coders and other people working on it it could be possibly made faster. As the luck has it, I have experience in Dark Basic (and game basics in general) so I could try and help making it. And maybe other people could go in as well.
With the power of Open Source, work goes faster when people with right skillset are willing to help. Until then, the project is unfortunately MIA (pun intended).
