I can't install the new JJ2+ version! Is there anyone who can help me?

I see that my antivirus software has quarantined plusifier.exe. That could probably be a factor in this. Can anyone help?

Yep, that?s almost certainly the problem ? plusifier.exe is part of the JJ2+ installer and sometimes antivirus software falsely flags it.

Try this:
1. Go into your antivirus
2. Restore or whitelist plusifier.exe.
3. You might also want to add the whole JJ2+ folder to your antivirus exceptions.
4. Then run the installer again.

Just realized I forgot one thing! After restoring plusifier.exe, make sure to run the installer as administrator (right-.click > ?Run as admin?)

Sometimes JJ2+ won?t patch correctly without admin rights.

I managed to restore plusifier.exe, but it gets blocked once again, time after time (even running as an administrator). The install of JJ2+ simply doesn't seem to work for me... 😭😭😭

Fundamentally, if you are unable to run your own files on your own computer, then you will be unable to run files. At some point the antivirus software is only making things worse for you.

If you really can't control the program that prevents you from running your own files on your own computer, and you already have an earlier version of JJ2+ (or can acquire one using GOG), you can download plus.zip and extract a new plus.dll and plus.j2a manually. But if your antivirus then randomly decides it doesn't like plus.dll, for example, then you will be unable to play JJ2+ no matter the installation method.

I removed the bad antivirus software for my computer and finally was able to update my JJ2+.
But... then I wanted to start JJ2 and time after time it gives an 'update available' message. It's nice that there is no more need to download anything manually. But don't think that update available message should pop up since I already did update...

For your info: I did the update and let JJ2 reset and the menu says I'm using version Beta v5.12b (2025-05-13). But when I shut JJ2 down and restart it again, it appears to be switched back to Beta v5.12a (2025-05-06) for no reason. And it happens time after time again...
